Allowing new players to be pvp viable more quickly..

While I in no way want to turn this game into anything resembling of a WoW clone.. (so hate that game now) It was nice how it only took a few months to catch up to other pvp'ers in that game. I've heard the arguments from those that think that it should take time as that is what makes an mmo. And although it has some merit I do think the game would be better served if new players could more easily see that light at the end of the tunnel...

Leveling to vr14 takes quite a long time in and of itself. A few things I think should be easier to obtain: Undaunted leveling.. The 6% bonus to health, stam, magicka is pretty major. If it wasnt usable in Cryo then I'd think it was fine. But since it is I think this should be more easily attained. Some of the siege skills.. Magical detonation.. this stuff should be easier to obtain. It is too important to pvp to have to have the haves and have nots.

I hate PvP with passion so I guess I can't really claim anything or have much information on it, however in GW2 you get scaled up to lvl 80 if you where bellow so you had a fair change to beat other players.

Aside from that the lag needs serious fix too, many people have lag issues in there.

You know there is a non-vet campaign, right?

The Undaunted leveling is WAY easier than getting to the Alliance ranks required to use Barrier or Caltrops, let alone Vigor, which are all useful in PvE.

Honestly, they could make it so that every player level 10 and above gets automatically scaled up to Vet 14 with 3600 CP, with all skills and bonuses unlocked, and a temporary set of maxxed-out gear, while in Cyrodiil, and people would still complain when they get face-stomped by another player who had no advantage other than months of PvP experience.

This would be a very awesome concept. Although I do not believe it should replace the current PvP system. It would be very awesome to see a new campaign put in with exactly what you said. That way players can test builds, test skills, mess around with classes to see if they find them worth leveling, etc.

Unfortunately as far as PvP and this game goes its basically unsupported at this point. We've had no new content and very few complete game changing bugs have been fixed. I enjoy PvP thoroughly, thats the only reason why I still play ESO. It would be so much better if it got more than what seems to be a very small percentage of the developers time.

Honestly, the only thing that makes PvP not viable for newer players is that it's dominated by the highly addicted 'career' player. There isn't any kind of mechanism to limit your grouping \ exposure to people that are around your skill \ equipment level. A less experienced player just gets eaten by the zerg or violated by gankers.

If there was smaller scale PvP, like arena style or skirmish style matches, you could be grouped based on your overall ranking and that would limit you to competitive but not overwhelming confrontations. As it stands, it's just zerg \ gank in Cyrodiil. There isn't really an option to throw inexperienced players into a ring and let them 'l2p' together.

Waraxx...what exactly do you mean? Cheating? Or just extra add ons that help in pvp?

I don't mind paying my dues in pvp.. but would be nice to eventually find a home with a semi decent pvp guild. My few experiences of pvp so far have been positive. Mostly just 1v1-3 depending. And I've watched quite a # of pvp videos recently and they just make the pvp look quite fun.

I've just never been a fan of being underpowered in a pvp game outside of the ability to catch up in an ok time frame. Wish they would change a few things to help with this. For how much WoW had that I disliked.. they hit the mark with creating a level playing field in pvp. I do miss that.

Build a tank, they can be quite effective even you're new player. Every army needs beating-bags.

I love PVP, spend all/most my time there,

I have sometimes wondered if there are some people that are cheating/using makros

I get hit like 5 times in less than a second and wonder,
Then i realize that with the lag issues in cyro it could just be that.

This is easily avoided by simply taking the time out of the players day to look up PvP oriented Guilds that will help teach and mold the player to be better in PvP.

If you want to learn a craft/skill. You approach those who have mastered that craft/skill and shadow them and bombard them with questions. And before someone says 'but a lot of them will tell you to get lost newb'. This frankly is not true. The majority of PvP Guilds are always glad to help a Player that is truely willing to listen and work hard at what it is their trying to learn. There are things that are just not viable in PvP that a player is doing in PvE. And they need to learn to drop that habit or not fall back on it during PvP. If you listen and work hard. Most PvP Guilds will gladly take you in and work with you.

I generally chat to opposition who kill me to find out what they did, what skills, armour etc they use.

Have found them very helpful, every now and again you get one that will not assist.

Just play the game and earn the skills like everyone currently playing did, it is supposed to be fun not a madcap rush to instawin. Yes you will get killed but *newsflash* when you have VR14 and all skills you will still get killed. Enjoy the journey, learn your class and accept that dying is part of pvp and relatively free from any consequences.

Levelling to VR14 does not take that long.

If you want undaunted skills then run the dungrons and do the pledges.

If you want PvP skills then play PvP.

    when it isn't laggy, the NB ganks you while on your horse and you are dead before you hit the ground;

    That is a macro.

    Op,

Newbie pvpers are squishy because vets have put time and effort into becoming stronger. If you provide the newbies with a quick catchup then you destroy the time and effort put in by the vets because their effort amounts to nothing (because the newbie matches them in power).

Newbies should indeed be cannon fodder. Time and effort will change that for them.

No one should ever ever remove time and effort. It makes the reward satisfying.
