Dual Wield - Precise or Nirnhoned?

The idea is more DPS..

(No PVP Buffs) Dual Wield Swords (epic Precise) / Breton Templar / 5pc Light / with 30 point 12% Crit CP yields 49%. Gear is all spell dmg for DPS. 3K Spell DMG buffed. Ele drain up 100% on bosses with 5pc Light Spell Pen. 10 points in to Spell Erosion. Crit pots are popped on all bosses.

Before I go crafting new swords and spending money on the Nirnhoned, I'm wondering if there are any number comparisons out there. How much spell pen can you stack before there are diminishing returns? Is there a clear winner here? Minor debate in our DC Templar community. Thanks for your wisdom.

My nirnhoned weapon does 1-2% more damage than my sharpened weapon.

Nirnhoned/sharpened does significantly more damage than precise. Do not use precise for PVE or PVP.

Also, make sure you put different Enchantments on each sword. Like a Fire Glyph on one and a Frost Glyph on the other. Or better, Disease on one, Poison on the other. If you have the same enchantment on both, the second will never proc unless you use a certain skill in the DW line.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Really? Wow, I never knew that. I always put different enchants on them because it seemed like a good idea in case an enemy I was fighting had an immunity to one, but it seems that there's an even better reason to do so!

Ok I appreciate your comments. I knew Nirnhoned eked out Sharpened by a bit. However, any thoughts on diminishing returns on spell pen stacking? Has anyone actually ran sustained DPS numbers on Nirn vs. Precise? Say.. a 60 second fight?

You will notice diminishing returns in Vet Dungeons and DSA. But it's still much better than precise.

However, in Trials, the bosses have extremely high armor and spell resistance. You will notice a big difference in DPS (1-2k or more) if you stack penetration. I switched my mundus to the spell penetration one, and I noticed a significant increase in damage on my Sorc.
