Why do gankers use heavy armor?

NBs get 1 sec of additional resists for each piece of heavy armor, so many run 2 pieces, like Dreugh King to get two weapon damage bonuses. Lose a little bit of crit. You still get the weapon power from medium. Full suit in the passive still meant 5 last time I tested it.

Considering all of the thousands of times I've been ganked I would deem this post as being incorrect. I see very few players with HA in pvp compared to medium.

Ive seen one using a sword n board on top of that. His damage was extreme too, idk why people like this need to gank to get kills when they can clearly hold their own in a real fight. Lack of confidence im guessing.

Are you sure you are seeing gankers in heavy armor and not heavy armor players who are ganking?

Ravager + dreugh king slayer is the highest weapon damage you can get and those are both heavy.

probably because they're not playing as "gankers" but if they're solo waiting for 1vX's it still makes sense to be 1) sneaking and 2) use out-of-sneak damage when a single enemy occurs.

Same applies if they're hanging out near your zerg. They want to take on a few enemies at once, but as long as that's not possible, they're fine with hit-and-run on single targets hoping to pull 2-5 players off the zerg that chase them afterwards
