Light attack weaving no benefit?

I read a ot about light attack weaving and i use this to enhance the dmg output of my crystal frags on my sorc. But i cant for the life of me get a significant dps increase by weaving in light attacks on my magicka NB with funnel health.

Weaving is easy with crystal frags. Just hit LA at the end of a crystal frag animation and immediately cast another crystal frag rinse repeat BUT

Using funnel health the following problems occour
1) I lose roundabout 200 spell dmg when i switch to a staff for ranged light attack from DW
2) Cancelling the LA animation seems to not be quite instant. I lose time i could use for casting another funnel health = lost dps
3) Any "getting out of sync" in the heat of the battle leads to lost light attacks because funnel has higher priority
4) Neding to time LA and FH lessens my all around "battlefield awareness" because it is more difficult than simple FH spam

Am i doing something wrong? Do you guys weave and see a noticeable dps increase?

Grab yourself a two handed flame staff. Cast funnel health immediately followed by a heavy attack. Rinse and repeat. Forgot light attack weaving. Weave heavy attack but cancel the heavy halfway through the cast.

Light attack weaving isn't that great anymore, mostly because light attacks are so weak now. Many people now use so-called "medium attacks" in between ability attacks. These are really just heavy attacks that have been truncated by lifting your finger off the mouse button before the heavy attack is fully complete. These attacks give around twice as much damage as light attacks in roughly the same amount of time, in my experience.

Weaving allows you to do damage during global cooldowns. It doesnt slow down ability use, it supplements it. It adds a minimum of 1k dps that you cant get any other way, and it hard counters defensive stance.

It's fantastic, and if youre not doing it, youre not doing optimal dps. The timing is different for different abilities, however.

So "Medium" attack weaving is en vogue now? Then you can add another problem:

5) Weaving slows you down compared to cripple +40% speed buffed funnel health spam

this just doesn´t fit my playstyle but i will try

You'll run out of magicka if you plan on spamming cripple+funnel health. +cripple is too easy to counter and block in Pvp.if you time it right you cam literally cast funnel health and heavy attack at the same time, so you shouldn't be losing dps.
