Healing Ritual [Totem] (Healing Ritual change suggestion for next major update)

We've all seen the shaman NPCs cast this, it is a totem the size of an NPC and looks kind of like a small tree. The spell's design mimics the Mystic's healing orb in Tera Online but goes further in being an AoE.

Mechanics
  • Templar places at most two totems so that s/he can go on doing other things.
  • Each totem gives 2 seconds of Minor Protection to allies passing through the radius, yielding 10% damage reduction.
  • Each totem has 1/3 the health of the caster, the same spell resistance as the caster, and is destructible. The totem can be buffed but not healed, just like mist form, and receives it's own Minor Protection.
  • The totem heals for half strength of the current Healing Ritual once per second.
  • If the totem is destroyed before dissipating, the Templar is set off balance and suffers minor breach, the spell resistance debuff.

Morph Changes
Increase the radius to 17m-20m on Ritual of Rebirth instead of decreased cast time.

Errata & Change History
  • Stun replaced with Minor Breach, the minor spell resistance debuff.
  • Major Protection deemed to strong, cut back to just Minor Protection. The idea behind the protection is that no matter how much the current Healing Ritual heals for, anything can die to a boss' basic attacks in two seconds.
  • Charge up removed, too complicated for ESO devs. Due to the protection change and reasoning for it, added heal per second instead and increased the allowed totems per caster to 2.
  • Totem cannot be healed or it would eat smart heals, protection bubbles, and some of the 6-ally AoE heal cap.

I'll just say that major protection is way too powerful a buff for spammable skill. That is why you only see it with expensive ultimates like Nova and Veil of Blades. Even the minor you only see on Suppression Field AFAIK.

I think it would be ok without the Major version, just the minor.

Finally a healing ritual suggestion that isn't half bad. Though, I'd remove the stun and add some other kind of negative effect to it.
V16 Uriel Stormblessed EP Magicka Templar(main)
V16 Derelict Vagabond EP Stamina DK
    V16 Redacted Ep Stam Sorc
    V16 Insolent EP Magicka Sorc(retired)
    V16 Jed I Nyte EP Stamina NB(retired)

I'd like to point out that damage reduction isn't actually represented as a non-stackable buff, all damage reductions (Nova, Remembrance, Circle of Protection, Veil/Bolstering) do stack with each other (and have varying values).

A magicka-based analogue to Circle of Protection (8% damage reduction for a huge stamina cost) would be awesome for Templars. I don't think it needs to be a destructible totem though, that would greatly limit its use in PvP and PvE encounters with lots of heavy AoE (which is when you really need damage reduction). In other words making it destructible and more fragile than the caster (not to mention debuffing the caster when it's destroyed) would make it almost useless.

(Think for example the Mantikora's stomp or the Serpent's poison, everyone's taking huge damage and a totem with 1/3 or even 2/3 of the caster's health is very likely to get one-shot even if it is healable: and since it isn't, all that it is going to do in that situation is disappear and debuff the Templar almost immediately.)

The healing IMO is too strong (which I assume is why you tried to balance it with the destructible mechanic) and really, unneeded. Templars don't need stronger HPS, Breath of Life is already more than enough and Healing Springs covers everything else. Allowing two to be placed is also unnecessarily complicating, given that most other enduring AoE effects can only have one copy at a time.

Thought: one of the morphs could also give Minor Berserk (8% damage boost) as an alternative to Combat Prayer.
