Tanking, where is the armor cap?

Hey everyone, I am working on converting a DK stam dps to a DK tank. I've gotten lots of different opinions from lots of different people, but I am having trouble finding concrete facts instead of opinions.

What armor corresponds to the hardcap of 50% mitigation? I am currently running 32k armor/resist (unbuffed), and I'm curious as to if I overshot the hardcap? If so, I am going to rework some items so that I hit the hardcap only when buffed. Right now I can get as high as 39k armor/resists buffed, but that is probably useless and wouldn't make a difference. My other stats are average-ish, 28k health 700 stam regen 14k stam all unbuffed.

If I remember well, the hardcap is at 32 500 armor and resistance. But that's not the first point you want to reach. Block mitigation is far better than armor, for example.

Oh, I have block mitigation maxed already. I just needed to know if my armor levels were overkill and I was wasting stats.

No hard cap, but you can only mitigate 50% of damage, and that works out to be around 32,500 armor.

The only point having more is if you are in PVP and players are using skills to lower your armor.
So swap some for other stats if your above 32,500

BTW, what are you using? Cause my V14 DK tank is having a hard time getting to the 50% mitigation mark.(I am using V14 footmen and hist bark set)

I was footman and histbark with bloodspawn before. I had about 23k armor.

I swapped to 4 piece bulwark, 3 piece deaths wind, 5 piece footman. All but one of the crafted heavy pieces is re-inforced. I did one nirn for resists. Its working pretty well for me.
