How does the "Sentry" armor set really work?

The "Sentry" Armor set gives at 5 items a "Stealth detection radius increased by 20%". What does that really mean?
Before i start collecting five items of this set, maybe there is someone who has experience with this.
My understanding is, that this bonus gives me the ability to recover invisible enemies, incl. in PvP battles. So what is my basic detection range from which i can increase the 20%? From my experience in Cyrodiil and PvP, i cannot see or attack invisible enemies although i stay almost at the same spot. Will i be able to see them with a full set of the Sentry armor?

✭No it's completely pointless I had the five piece at one time it's just not worth it, the bonus damage is awesome but I had to use pots to really see people but the 20% damage buff is greatChaos Shadow-Scale: Shadow Archer
