NPC's ignoring root

as the title suggests. Have you ever been in the middle of a mob, but then that pyromancer or rouge decide to back off? well, if you use a ability such as shattering prison, they just keep moving despite the root effect the ability is supposed to have

I was JUST about to post a thread about a similar issue!

@ZoS devs, could you please look at "Shadowrend's Shadow Proxy" in the Banished Cells dungeon in Auridon? This mob is summoned by Shadowrend, the 2nd Boss in Banished Cells. The problem with Shadowrend's Proxy is that he has a charging attack that he somehow performs even when rooted! When I cast the "Encase" spell on him, he completely ignores the roots and drags them all the way across the floor when he make his charge.

Please, ZoS, fix this. If a mob is supposed to be CC-able, then the CC should WORK.

This drives me crazy as well. I'll cast burning talons, then those mobs just back up like nothing ever happened. Stay put dangit!

Yes it's very annoying. You can even knock them down with invasion and if it's at the exact time they charge the ability which causes them to back off their body just slides along the floor. They will do it with talons or even fossilize i have noticed.

i don't know if this is something they CAN fix. the issue to me seems to be in how combat is calculated. it has to do with the delay between activating an ability and when the abilities effect happens. in this case mob AI decides i'm gonna back up and use this ranged ability, then your crowd control effect happens, but because the mobs ability was activated first, even though it hadn't generated an effect yet, it jusf drags the cc with it and gets stuck at its new location. this is a very common issue in any combat situation with any number of abilities
