I'm meaning as in using it :P not going against it XD

But about that dodging. can you actually dodge through a batswarm negating some of the damage?

It depends what kind of build you're using, and vs what. Meteor compliments ranged builds, and only use it if you have your own reflect up. Bats compliments melee builds.

Bat Swarm is good on one or multiple players. Though it is not as powerful as it use to be it is handy. Meteor is a one shot, one target ranged damage. Use both. One on each skill slot. I have ran it that way for a long time before rotating Ults.

I was thinking about this as well. but i was thinking that if i am going to use the DK leap ult what would be the better ult on my other bar.

Batswarm can be rolled out of Meteor cannot. Ice comet not only does more damage than shooting star it also knocks down and (roots or slows not looking at the tool tip now)

One you can get away from..one you cannot .

eh.. if you're a nightblade make sure you run cloak... and cloak when you see it coming. It will just miss and do nothing.

Everyone can reflect it, if using a shield.

ball of lightning from sorcs will suck up the meteor also

Block will reduce the damage quite a bit, especially if using a shield.

It would be so useless if you could dodge it, lol.

Clouding Swarm is very good because most players don't notice you and just stand still while you kill them... For whatever reason.

meteor is fine the ice comet is completly broken in regards of roll dodging it as it teleports you back into its impact area if you rolled out of it... wich makes blocking the only option to compensate it wich is rediculous with the current block costs if you are not a stamina or a shield(the one tied to your arm not the one arround you) user.

Roll out of bats (truth be told, I could stay in it if need be) then warm up camo hunter for incoming Lol's

It should make the Meteor miss even if you are being detected and I know it can - does that not work reliably if you cast the Cloak soon enough?

There are more counters to Cloak than I instantly can remember. Hence, casting Cloak to dodge a Meteor is always a lottery.

Imho the invisibility of clouding swarm dominates meteor by FAR.
While meteor is hard to dodge, it's incredibly easy to reflect and can even be sent into BoL balls.

The damage of clouding swarm is not spectacular either, the invisibility combined with c-rush/suprise attack/wrecking blow/crystal frags/jabs/RD and many more is what makes it strong. Only very few builds are still perma blocking in 1.6.

Selectively going on defense (block/dodge/refresh shields early) is much harder if you don't see stuff coming. Dodging/avoiding a wrecking blow is easy. Doing the same with a WB from invisibility is hell

Never had vamp in 1.5 (not sure with in 1.4 or only earlier). Nova was jsut too good with all that balling and stationary fights. I just got vamp now and it's awesome. Sure, I don't deal was much damage as I do by reflecting all those noobish meterors with defensive stance but it's a utiltiy ult.

    Nice.
Clouding swarm isn't that bad with sap essence spam, fear or other cc.
It's also great getaway skill if combined with major expedition. Real life safer when things are getting really bad.

    You should test both ults.
Bat Swarm is a nice AoE damage source. If you go with Devouring Swarm, you can also stand in there without dropping once below 100% health. It's very nice for sustain!
Meteor otherwise adds insane amounts of damage - on hit and after that as AoE, whereby the AoE is negligable.

I wouldn't argue taking one over another because of dodge - if you know how, you can get away from both. It's always a little struggle.

Well if you refer to the heads start, where this ult simply was insanely broken, I hope it remains "not as used to be". :D
bat swarm is useless ever since the ult gen nerf
Why? I run it and can activate it once in every longer fight. I think it's pretty ok.
You can also slot another ult with increased ultimate gain.
Clouding swarm becomes much more viable if your race had the stealthy passive +10% damage in while in stealth
Are you saying the truth? Or is it only because you use it and want it that way?

I tested it some months ago and I did NOT get sneak bonus on top of it. I've got the bonus from the spells where it say "from invisibility", like the stun from Surprise Attack.

Can you please confirm again, that sneak bonus applies per Clouding Swarm?

I can test tonight. I was told by someone whose opinion I trust and who normally tests. Only switched two days ago since I was under the impression that clouding swarm doesn't take advantage of the passive

Now that everyone knows the sound and visual effects from incoming meteors, I've found it to be sub-par against competent players. I suppose it's still useful in zerg clashes, but Barrier or even Dawnbreaker provide good alternatives.
