Need help/info on class choise due to my playstyle.

Hey all.

*Wall of text and some ramblings incomming*

I have been playing for awhile now on/off and recently got back into the game with an friend of mine. Tho since we decided to roll new chars on diffrent faction i have an hard time deciding what to play. SO i thought ill tell you guys some of my idea's and wishes and you guys tell me what you think and i would like to hear some reasons to why you have that oppinion and so on.

Firstly were talking like 97% PvE and 3% PvP

I like to play an sneaky char in this game and for some reason i like dualwielding. So at the least i will use 5 medium parts of armor (if that still is the way to go. Last i played it was 5 pieces of main armor and 2 of other type depending on what you wanted)

So an rogue type, now that i told you that i need to tell you that i dont want to play an nightblade

I want to play an Templar becouse of the beeing an secondary healer when needed. BUT i have trouble playing like this cos i miss an gap closer and atm i have no idea on how to solve this. my choises are Templar or Dragon knight. I have tried both but came here cos i feel i must scrap one and need help deciding wich one.

Templar i feel will be more helpful to me and my friend at later lvls due to heals but if thats the only reason i dont think its worth it. Also, it lacks any kind of gap closer as far as i know.

Dragon knight is fun and all and have the gap closers i so miss on the templar like the chain grappling skill and ddragon leap. Both wich i enjoyed alot but as far as i know no heals unless going resto staff as secondary at lvl 15.

These are the only things making me having an hard time deciding wich class and i have put no thought into the fact that Dragonknights to fire dmg and Templars do holy stuff, this is only for my enjoyment and no min/max thingy.

If you read it this far im impressed and heres the big question:

Now when you know what i am comparing the classes on and mix that with my playstyle wich is a sneaky dualwielding backstabbing dps cursing *** what class would you recommend and why.

Thinking dragon knight or sorceror to get some of that rogue effect.

Dragon knight for a buff to heavy attacks, then open from stealth on a heavy attack. You may not get to do this in dungeons too much, but that's the for the thrill of the back stab. And if you really needed to stay alive you have an ultimate with excellent mitigation so you could go toe to toe for ten seconds or so. You'll also have a percentage based self heal. All of these abilities don't need spell damage, so you're free to focus on stamina and weapon damage.

And if for some reason you wanted to try tanking, other stamina weapons, magicka, or healing, the dragon knight is in a nice place to do them all exceptionally well.

And I mention sorcerer for escaping purposes. If you wanted to grab an enemy's skull and back stab it with furious vigor then escape in a bolt of lightning, the sorcerer's got you covered. Though I lean more on dragon knight for the concept you've described so far.

Right now with the current patch, you either go magicka or Stamina on your builds. You can still be a hybrid but your damage output is lessened. Think of it this way, both magicka and stamina gives you 50/50 damage output. That ratio changes as you 'spec' more into each damage resource. Kind of like 70/30 or 60/40 ratio, you would want to get 100/0 ratio.

Now with that in mind, naturally having a dual wield weapon which focuses on physical / stamina damage with a resto staff on the other bar that uses magicka damage would mean you are not using that damage ratio to its fullest 100%. So it is much better if you focus on one damage resource.

However, you can use the other stamina resource to boost your damage output or your survivability or your durability in battle. One example would be if you are a destro wielding Templar casting destructuve reach and also using binding javelin. Reach uses magicka but binding javelin uses stamina. Since your main damage is from magicka, the use of binding javelin allows you to use your other resource for the utility the skill offers.

So imo, since you dont want to be a nightblade ( which I find weird since nb gives a lot of utility for sneaky assassin types) being a dragonknight is a much better choice for you. You can still use dual wield weapons but go magicka based. Ise dual wield abilities that provides utility like snares and such. But it would be best if you go stamina based and use the abilities from the dragonknight class to give you that extra edge. Dks have alot of self survival, is durable by nature and much more dps oriented than Templar.

All in all, I hope this helps with your decision.

I cant really give any good reason as to why i dont want to play an NB, when my playstyle says i should
