Oh wait, they ENCOURAGE people to be cheesy, that's right, I remember now.
Animation canceling was introduced only to allow us to BLOCK when we need to, to survive. Just because few morons decided that's how the game should be played, all players have to comply? I don't think so.
I've already posted this several times, but I'll do it again: If you cancel an animation with BLOCK, whole attack should have been nullified as if it never happened. This way just screws heavy attacks into something unspeakably bad (only done if you're really in the need of resources, mostly by resto staff users), everyone else abuses animation canceling.
Do you know how many people left last summer because ZOS tried that "we know nothing about that, we're looking the other way" attitude? Too many. It forced them to go f2p.
Just because few % of minmaxers are happy abusing that, it doesn't mean it's a right thing to do.
Imagine it from the RP perspective. A mage doesn't have time to say whole incantation for a spell, so he just stops early and expect the spell to fire just with a little reduced damage? I don't think so. Same with Weapons. Yeah, please, try to draw bow to 2/3 and see how far the arrow will fly. It's just BULL*RAP.
