How do absorb shields work together with dodge-chance buffs/armor set bonuses?

Hello,
I know that damage that goes through shields hits unmitigated (and non-crit).

How about dodge chance combined with absorb shields (Blazing Shield)? If you get some "not absorbed" (after the shield goes down) damage that hits you, does the dodge chance apply thereafter (for the remaining damage after the absorb) or does the dodge-mechanic work before the damage-absorb mechanic?

Or is the damage (if an absorb shield is up) "un-dodgeable" because of the same mechanics as damage mitigation?

Thanks!

As I understand the mechanics, dodge chance is checked first, then shields, then armor/spell resist. So I don't think dodge chance affects any other mitigation numbers. Either you dodge or you don't.

Assuming that all dodge chance happens the same way, it is taken into account first. For example, using Hist Bark (18% dodge chance while blocking) and Blazing Shield, I can actually waste magicka on casting Shield if the dodge procs enough times in a row. When that happens, Blazing Shield will disappear without exploding, because I dodged everything, I'll have taken no damage, and my stamina won't have dropped.
