I'm a little confused

Hello everyone, despite me being a large ES guy, some of the stuff in this game is a little confusing. I plan on making my traditional Argonian Assassin, medium/leather armor, dual wielding, all the good stuff. But, as I was looking through the Night Blade skills, and all of the class skills used Magicka instead of stamina. I plan on slotting mostly NB skills (I think I was going with one, maybe two Dual wield skills) so that kind of throws my medium armor plan out the window, right?

Since the majority of my skills will be Magicka based, will I need to be wearing more light armor? Or do the armor passives not really have that big of an effect on my resources? I can't really imagine my character sneaking around in mages robes...

So I'm a little lost. Should I do a mix? Will I only be effective sneaking around in a bathrobe? Or will I be able to play that way using the preferred medium armor?

Also, what about my stat points? Is there some kind of patter I should follow? Should I throw everything into health, or one of the others? What kind of distribution should I use? I don't plan on really running trials or anything like that. I might dabble in the occasional dungeon or some PvP while leveling. I'm not really going to be playing this like a traditional MMO, more like the traditional single player Elder Scrolls. So I'm not worried about plaguing hardcore groups with my inferior build.

Thanks for any helpful information. I'm obviously still a newb.

Some skills cost stamina after you morph them, and are also scaled of weapon dmg. This is new in update 6.
    Hybrid build are for tanks.
The more stamina you have, the more dmg you do with weapons, and some skills scaled of stamina and weapon damage.
The more max magicka you have, the more dmg you do with spells. So if you are planning on doing some damage with those daggers, you better get stamina and the 5 medium armor bonus. You can go 5 medium, one light and one heavy if you want, but this cost a lot of skill points. Because if you look at undaunted passive, you get bonus stats by having different armor type slotted. But then to get the most out of it, you should spend skill points on every armor passive, light, medium and heavy. I have about 290 skill points and I still want more, more, more :-D
If you don't know how to spend your attribute points, you can go the safe way. Either 30 in magicka and 32 i health, or 30 in stamina and 32 in health.

Do not mix dps magika and stamina skills you will be gimping yourself. Use magika for utility. A good number of the NB skills get stamina based skills as morphs once you level the base skill such as teleport strike. Use this website to preview your skill lines http://www.esohead.com/calculator/skills. Just keep at it with medium and you will have among the highest burst dps. Stat points are all about feel but you'll want the majority in stamina to increase dps and your resources pool for dps, put a few points into health but stamina NBs are more 'hit and run' style than endurance, using shadow cloak as a magkia dump to weave in and out of battlem mass hysteria to fear enemies and reapers mark to reduce their defenses.

Agreed. Whoever came up with the design should be shot in the foot and only admitted to hospital when he manages to find 3 other people willing to maim themselves the same way in order to accompany him.

Ultimately, any method of entering an enemy keep without breaking down the door is considered an exploit. Thanks for checking!

The ESOhead skill calculator still lists magicka as the resource used, however if at the bottom of a skill morph description it reads "New Effect: Now scales off Stamina and Weapon Damage" then the resource used is actually Stamina.

The calculator itself is a nice tool, you just have to pay attention to the morph description to plan out your Stamina vs Magicka morphs.

your not mistaken and your not confused, the truth is that the nightblade class was not properly and accurately created to resemble what was in morrowind and skyrim type gameplay. there is a wiki page that was made about nightblades but
it is not accurate nor does it take into account the entire stamina rogue type playstyle as was seen in morrowind and skyrim and even some in oblivion.
you are correct in feeling it is out of place.
altho i do remember in skyrim there was an old man magicka build in the dark brotherhood sanctuary that did say that there exists magicka built assassins and that "a well placed fireball can be just as deadly as a knife to the back".

Thanks, to all of you for your help. I had no idea that the skills morphed into stamina based spells, that makes this so much easier. I played a little bit after launch, and one the whole Magicka cost confused me greatly. With that confusion out of the way, I have a much better idea of what I should be doing. Thanks again for the help.
