Question about igneous weapons and earthen heart passives.

I know minor brutality is granted on activation but are any of other passives working for this ability (the 5% stamina or the ultimate gen)? I know you cant charge your ultimate out of combat like you used to but do they work in combat or applied via heavy attack?
