PVP nightblade help

hey ive been playing the game since beta on and off, and now at vr1 i am interested in starting to tweak my PVP build. Please help if you have experience with the bow/siphoning skill trees.

my character uses bow/siphoning skills in the first weapon slot, and sword/shield in the other. My sword/shield build is great, and i don't really need help on that.

my bow/siphoning build is lacking somewhere... it may just be that there aren't many great skills here. Keep in mind i want it to be great for PVP

1. Venom Arrow - interrupts spells but im not sure there are enough pvpers that use cast time skills to make this effective?
2. Funnel Health - hoping this helps to heal a teammate and I from distance while hitting other long range attacks
3. Arrow Spray - Bombard - This seems to work ok to shoot into groups and snare a bunch of them and make them pop their cc breaks
4. Mist Form (vampire line) - i hit this for a great getaway
5. siphoning attacks - this seems to be great to keep sustained damage as the battle takes longer
ULTIMATE - SOUL STRIKE (good single target damage from range)

I guess my goal for the build is to be able to put out decent damage and keep enemies at a distance. At the same time i can out last their stamina and magicka beacause of siuphoning attacks. I am most concerned about not using SNIPE? Is there anything that sticks out to anyone as a MAJOR issues here?

I've tried to keep mistform on the escape/ranged bar for a long time but finally gave it up. In my experience it usually only prolongs the inevitable if you are being chased by an angry mob. At night it works better of course just because the lack of visibility on the mist is harder to track. But I get taloned and snared all the same so you really need to run it with purge or shuffle then. It was nice to use for breach entry into a keep but that's just suicide with the new pew pew siege damage.

Anyway, for escape I recommend dark cloak and double take. Get some separation and then cloak.

thanks, was thinking about trying dark cloak. does it allow you to completely sneak away sometimes?

Sometimes, yes.

But it's still incredibly unreliable and easily countered. If you click my name, I made a post just yesterday about how every class has a reliable heal or escape but the Nightblade.

Class balance in this game is sort of a joke.

The fact you don't have snipe seems a glaring omission espesh as you appear to be wanting a sneaky type. Nothing more sneaky than plinking arrows from a great distance without the enemy knowing where you are.

dekkameron is snipe the only ability you can cast from sneak? i just find that SNIPE uses a lot of stam and besides the first shot doesn't have much use

Well, i use focused aim which increases the range. And the first shot is the most useful hehe. I can pretty much spam it forever.

Snipe is a pretty good ability. It would take while just spamming it for me to run out of stam.

I'm v14, but what I run is:
5pc Hunding's Rage/4pc Ashen Grip/3pc Shadow Walker

Skills:
Dual daggers - Impale, Teleport Strike (left unmorphed to keep it Magicka since I only use it as a gap closer/stun), Steel Tornado, Sap Essence (both for heal and for the increase in weap dmg), Rapid Strikes, and Flawless Dawnbreaker or Incapacitating Strike ults (Flawless for passive increase to weap dmg or sometimes Incapacitating Strike for stun/cheapness/heal debuff).
Bow - Dark Cloak (for escape and to remove dots), Venom Arrow, Reaper's Mark (for better dmg and the heal/weap dmg after killing the enemy affected by it), Ring of Preservation/Magnum Shot (RoP for dmg reduction since this build can be quite squishy or sometimes Magnum Shot to keep enemies at a distance), Lethal Arrow, and Soul Tether ult (for nice dmg and self-heals).

Personally, I like this setup and it actually works quite well.

EDIT: Sometimes I do take Ambush/Venom Arrow off for Siphoning Attacks and it works nicely.

Snipe hits very hard, especially while under the effect of Camo Hunter, Flawless Dawnbreaker and Piercing Mark. More importantly if you are using a bow there is nothing you can do that will hit harder. This should always be your opener if you are able. With the right gear and build you will do a lot of damage
