Werewolf's questions to ZOS

Long time werewolf first time caller just hopping to have some questions answered about the future of werewolves.

1. Will we ever become a toggle? Many have asked and many more want it.
2. Why are the werewolf abilities so much more expensive than any other tree's stamina based ablities? Werewolves used to have a stamina increase but that was taken away and price of the skills were not adjusted.
3. Why can't werewoves hunt? it's what we were made for!? We can't track prey or sneak, let us hunt with extra detection area and/or the ability to stealth. But if we are keeping the timer don't bother giving us stealth.
4. Is it me or does the extremely tough pelt that we are supposed to gain as werewolves feel more like the added protection of a poncho?

Thanks I'm looking forward to hearing back from @ZOS @ZOS_GINABRUNO @ZOS_JessicaFolsom !

Do you do many trials/ Pvp at all? Not trying to be rude. You don't last 2 sec if you try eating in cyrodii even if you kill someone odds are they will rez up before you can get the feed in. Watch your detach recap show 3 lethal arrows if you try for a snack. Get ready to get booted from a serious raid if your snacking when you should be burning a boss down. Changes to blood rage help in pve... but try to find a critter in cyrodiil to snack on in between battles.

Yeah, I mean, I'll always want to be in ww form longer, but after getting all the passives, taking a few morphs, I'm pretty happy with how long I can stay in werewolf form in the right circumstances. I understand the desire for a toggle, and I do value the idea of being a werewolf as long as we want for RP purposes, but I think that can be taken too far, there needs to be limits somewhere. I do still feel like the line is lacking something, but I'm happy overall with what we've got now.

I recently grabbed an addon that shows the % damage reduction you have. And I may need to double check this since i've leveled up since then, but turning into a werewolf gave me 1.1% more reduction. Bound armor, a skill people don't generally use for the armor part anymore, provided 1.6% reduction. So the "bonus armor" provided is kinda low.

And @Aren_Liore, the general idea as to why people want more time from my perspective boils down to a few things.

1.) If you want to stay transformed you can't stop fighting. No opening containers to loot, no talking to npcs, no talking to guildies or anyone in chat, no time to stop to regen, no time to reslot your skills, no time to look at your stats. Nothing.

2.) You spend 21 skill points in what is effectively a short term dps buff, unless you can achieve 100% up-time, but that's only really an option against large groups of weak enemies. For 21 skill points is it wrong to want to utilize it more?

3.) You give up almost all class utility. Are you the groups healer? Not in wolf form. Trying to be the tank? No taunts. Is your focus ranged dps? No ranged skills here. Turning into a ww gives you a build and playstyle that is different than the norm, but the time is so short we can't really do much with it. Rather than enjoying the transformation, even in the optimal situation I spend more of my time looking for things to eat.

And honestly, are there many situations where the werewolf could become op in its current state? You burn out your resources to achieve optimal damage or sacrifice a lot of it to sustain, and in pvp there are so many lethal arrows and poison injections thrown around that you will be dead long before you become a major threat.

And one thing that I want to bring back up, when 1.5 was going onto pts the devs said they wanted the transformation to "feel more like an ultimate" and by that I get the impression short term dps buff. The gripe a lot of people have is that is not their view for the skill line, 21 skill points, something unique and interesting, reduced to a short buff.

no pvp for me , i dont like it.elder scrolls for me was always a journey u take on your own, i dont care who's around me,same way as i dont care of any other players when pve except in dolmans which is nice to fight together.but that's me.
as for werewolf, it's just an extra, another way of having fun and living .

It got drasticaly reduced in 1.5 but fixed in 1.6. Werewolves get around 20% extra stamina when they turn into their beast form. That's a lot of stamina.

I don't know which morphs you are using, but in most of the situations you should only use your light attacks for DpS and make sure Claws of Life are up 100% of the time. I achieve between 12-14K single target DpS just by prebuffing with Rally and Hircine's Bounty. And that's just by Refreshing Claws of Life and chain Light Attacks. And my itemisation isn't even fully optimised for DpS so I wouldn't be suprised if I could achieve 16K DpS with the right gear.

Using Howl of Agony is only usefull when you set it up for a Ferocious Roar + Heavy Attack + Howl of Agony burst combo. If you wave Light Attacks + Howl of Agony you end up loosing DpS. (Except in situation with bleed immune ennemies, in which case you should probably use a more suited ultimate ability anyways)

You can already dodge roll as a Werewolf...

Being a werewolf is fun, and I wouldn't give it up, but it is pretty terrible compared to almost every other ultimate if I am being honest. I spend more time trying to do things to sustain my form, than I do trying to fight effectively, because as mentioned previously, WW is only easy to sustain against a lot of weak enemies, in which case, what is the point of using it anyway?

My main point of argument is, when I use my WW ultimate in PVP, I have only once actually been able to make it work where I was able to get a kill, out of all the times I have used it. Compare this to my other ultimates which help far more, and yes, WW is stupidly underpowered still, and needs a lot more work to be viable.
