Templar magika build help

Soul Shriven
I am currently vr1 and am using this build which is going well but I wanted other people's opinions to see if I could improve it.

Bar 1: reflective light for aoe dot and major prophecy buff and to proc the Templar passive for minor sorcery , radiant ward for protection and rescued magika cost, puncturing sweep for heals, elemental ring for aoe damage and dot and explosive charge to get close. For ultimate I am using solar prison but I am wondering if I should be using empowering sweep instead for solo play.

Bar 2: radiant glory for execute, structured entropy for major sorcery and heal, force pulse, primary single target damage, dark flare for opening, honor the dead for an "oh crap button" heal. I barely ever use it but I have soul tether for my ultimate here.

My rotation for aoe goes sturctured entropy reflective light and then explosive charge, after that i pop radiant ward and keep it up when Peter it pops and keeping elemental ring dot up while i dos with puncturing sweeps, then wen enemy's get low i radiant glory them. During the fight I keep up major prophecy and both major and minor sorcery.

For single target open with dark flare into reflective light and structured entropy and then I spam force pulse and weave in heavys for the extra damage form fire staff passive. The. When they get low radiant glory.

I'm wearing 5 light and two heavy as a Breton.

@dclang Puncturing Sweep, Blazing shield, Inner Light and Magicka is all you need.

Think before you act. There are always consequenses to your actions eventhough you may not notice them

What kind of answer is that?

Light attack and a heal is technically all you NEED but is about as fun as watching paint dry. Same goes for this answer.
I'm kind of a small deal!

    For Bar 1:

First, I would consider doing some of the math for Radiant Ward vs Blazing Shield. Since Blazing does damaged based on your max health, Radiant might do more or less damage. You probably don't have as much health as a tank, but you should confirm which is best. Focused/Explosive/Toppling Charge all have a global cooldown, which I find rather irritating. It's not noticeable in casual play, but you'll feel it at some point. Lastly, Nova, and either morph, are good big time attacks. They do a lot of damage, but they're also expensive. Whereas Empowering Sweep, the ultimate I use actually, is cheap and ready to use often, and now actually does descent damage from the DoT. You look to be a melee ranged magicka user, so Empowering is gonna do well there.

I might suggest using Meteor, from the Mage's Guild skill line, instead of Nova eventually. You gotta max out the skill line to get it, but it does MASSIVE damage. I actually think it's more damage than Nova/Standard do, but at the very least it's comparable. Plus, it's cheaper by about 50 ultimate. Meteor is the new ultimate of ultimates.

    For Bar 2:

I took Radiant Glory myself, but I wish I'd taken Oppression. The heal isn't honestly that great, and as a Templar you really don't need more ways to heal yourself. Since you probably have a lot of magicka, the extra 40% damage boost with Oppression is probably gonna show for you. Also, I personally like Breath of Life over Honor the Dead because it heals more people, but if you're not running as a healer then HoD can work. Lastly, since you barely use Soul Tether, I would keep Nova here instead. It's an AoE ability, but if you're just fighting a single target, it doesn't really matter. Plus, you mentioned not being able to choose between this and Empowering Sweep.

Everything else seems about on par with what I would do. Reflective Light is my choice for that skill, as well as the two destro staff abilities.

    Hope that helps!
