cloak and shadow barrier passive bug or no?

I'm 99% sure, pre 1.6 when I activated dark cloak the shadow barrier passive wouldn't apply itself until coming out of invisible, which was perfect. However, now the shadow barrier passive is applied while I am invisible and basically gone by the time I un-cloak, which to me seems pointless. Anyone have an answer for this? I mean, why need a spell resist/armor buff while invisible and for the most part immune to all damage except AoE? Seems pointless now. It should be like 1.5 where you get the bonus when you reappear, when you actually need the passive bonus.

You can also equip heavy armor to increase the duration of Shadow Barrier by one second per piece of heavy armor equipped.

Clearly. But it used to be activated AFTER coming out of cloak pre-1.6. Having increased armor and spell resist while immune to most all damage is *** and makes zero sense. What I'm saying is Zo$ needs to fix that. It's fine and dandy any shadow skill gives you the bonus but is doesn't justify lazy programming. It's not asking to much.

I'm with you 100% on this one.

Shadow barrier used to only apply to stealth and activated only when becoming visible again.

Since 1.6 it activates upon using any Shadow ability; this does offer new opportunities but renders it useless for Shadow Cloak as it's cleared before Shadow Cloak expires. I don't see way things couldn't be tweaked for it to work as before with Shadow Cloak.
