PVP frustration.

Anyone else getting frustrated by the following?

- People on purpose seem to create lag, and have the ability to start the lag, and stop it at their own leisure. These people apparently don't get punished for this behavior and I am uncertain whether it's impossible to detect it, or whether it's tolerated. Both options worry me.

-Not being a healer in a small group feels stupid.
I enjoy teaming up with a friend of mine, but it seems as if he get's half of all the points if I get a kill, but I get no reward if he heals half an army. How comes he get's rewarded for my efforts but not the other way around?

-Streak got nerfed.
And still I see sorcerers seemingly being able to pick their fights as they please. Don't like a fight? Just streak away. There is no way to catch up to these people. I've made several attempts, and on two occasions the sorcerers didn't get tired of me, nor went for the guards. I ended up chasing one around for half a frigging hour.

-Shadow cloak doesn't work.
I wouldn't mind streak if I could do something similar, but I cannot.

-Nirnhoned bug.
I don't understand why this wasn't hotfixed.. Even disabling the trait (making people lose 5% spell penetration) seems far better then letting them ignore the complete spell resistance (Which can be up to a 50%)

    1. Yes, this is bothersome, but I doubt it will be addressed.
    2. I'm moreso concerned that they haven't implemented group priority heals.
    3. If you're chasing a sorc for half an hour, that's your fault. I'm sure they were sitting there with a trollface the entire time, I know I would.
    4. They need to work on this, I agree.
    5. It's getting fixed tomorrow. No more whining.

Shadow Cloak is a touchy subject with me, as I've had issues with it in the past, but after talking to a few NBs, the suggestion was made to dodge roll into Shadow Cloak. Tried that last night and I haven't had a problem since....except for those people who use detect potions...that can ruin my day.

As for Streak, you can catch up with any gap closer. Rule of thumb for me....if it takes me 2-3 gap closers and he's still streaking....let him go. I've learned my lesson a long time ago about chasing a streaking Sorcerer into a group of his friends. A Sorc that streaks away is not a threat to your group....but when he comes back...and he WILL come back....be ready for him.

I don't know how many PSAs I need to make, don't follow the sorc unless you're as committed to catching him as he is to running away.

This. This game allows you, in a way, to play the game as you want. That said, there are certain builds that are created to fulfill certain roles. There are builds made to keep the player alive for an eternity, there are builds that allow the player to do godlike damage, there are builds that are jack of all trades, and then there is a small group of niche builds that are designed to troll other people.

And if you get lured by one, it's on you.

As a blinking sorc myself, my advise to you is this: Never chase a blinking sorc. Never.

    Right.

I'd be banned if I spoke my mind right now.

Feels a bit like on sorcerers those builds pretty much overlap into a single one. Though then again, that might just be my current experience with them considering my heavy armor counts for absolutely nothing.

I've given up chasing sorcerers some time ago, though it still vexes me to know that they have a guaranteed way to leave the fight whenever they wish.

At least with a Nightblade you can throw flares, caltrops and things in the general direction to unstealth them. (in the rare situation shadowcloak did work)

    1. Yes the lag spammers are annoying and I believe ZoS will never do anything directly to them. I do hope they allow us to roll back the post processing upgrades with a toggle. That should help greatly.

    2. Shrug. I run in small group PvP 99% of the time and we don't have healers generally. Hasn't really been a problem. I'm a vamp too so have reduced healing rate. It's not that big a deal.

    3. Never liked bolt escape but if it's been nerfed I applaud that. When it is nothing more than a defensive escape I'll be content to be quiet about it.

    4. Shadow Cloak does work for the most part but with expanded means of detecting you speed in stealth is more important then ever. Suggestions: Become a vamp for passive stealth speed, keep concealed weapons on both bars, have rapid maneuvers handy, purge is a must. dodgeroll plus Cloak is your friend. The speed buff for dodgerolling with a bow is significant. Be handy at spamming Cloak AND popping a magika potion if you're a stamina build. Might have to hit a stam pot of you're a magika build so you don't reveal yourself by running out of stam.

Things are more difficult now for NB with all the new detection methods but in general Cloak and stealth are actually working better for me. I am removed from combat more effectively and get back into stealth easier than pre 1.6, so I spend much less time locked out of stealth. You have to do what you can to break line of sight though while your cloak is up.

    5. Shrug. It's getting fixed. Bugs like that don't stick around long.

Try this: next time you get so upset over a sorc streaking away, just tell yourself "I win at life." Maybe that'll help you feel better.
Disabling the grass may improve performance.

Bolt is the least of a NB's problem as far as sorcs go. Hardened Ward and Harness Magicka are just plain silly. I've tried every combo with fear and cripple and the best burst that I can manage with 2800 spell power, 40% spell crit and weaving shadowy disguise with concealed weapon. They can out shield anything you put out and I have yet to get the no stamina kill that everybody says is the "key" to winning.

Just for fun I waited for a poster in this thread to come and res his buddy and then got a stealth crit stun in on him while he was doing it. Didn't matter. I put out 50k in damage according to my cls window in about 10 seconds. He still killed me quite easily.

I hate bouncy bolting sorcs. Why do you guys have to bounce around so much. There should be a stamina cost for jumping. Seriously though, shields need some rock, paper, scissors counter. Right now they are way too strong.

Yeah, you guys were just tearing up the pilgrims on the way to glade. Really well coordinated. I knew you would come back for him and I couldn't convince anybody to stay so I waited by myself. I got lucky at first that you didn't have hardened ward up right away but I still couldn't finish the deal. I should have just run a couple of times but to quote a loud mouth braggart from the future "I don't know about you but I'm tired of running" So you killed me instead. :)

I've got 2200 spell power with sets and then the Major Sorcery from potion, degenerate whatever gets it up higher. I've seen it as high as 2800 sometimes when I open up my char sheet.

To be fair, I run a sustain build over damage. So my shields are strong because I give up damage for that. So a NB can catch me offguard, but if I react quick enough, my shields will go up and I can turn to the offensive. But it doesn't always work out that way, and there are players who will get enough damage in on me and I won't get shields up in time. It works both ways.

    See you out there! (:

The thing with this, is how people can stack OVER each other, no collision so you can hide 40+ in a 5 ft. square area, and spam buff and such enough to "create" latency, that is my theory which I believe can be true if relatively close to a battle.

So find an ongoing battle, get near the latency range stack up spam skills and storm in. This is purely a theory I don't actually have tested this but I welcome anyone to help me test it...

This strategy is used by PvP guild but somewhat popular belief tends to say this is intentional but it is not, aparently it is a playstyle.

I think this was created to exploit the AoE cap now common amongst XvXvX games making a large group less exposed to targeted aoe, making coordinated movement and calling down burst damage at specific moment.

A few solutions to this issue is add collision to player preventing abusive stacking and/or reducing movement speed of said player if near a large group above 12. Which make sense to me because when you run in big bulk you tend to step on each other toes slowing you down unless you adopt a slower coordinated pace like duringa marathon.

This is my point of view
