I personally love playing 2H melee. It feels fun and it can be very powerful. Stampede -> Wrecking Blow -> Class/2H abilities is my favorite combination, with the class abilities varying depending on the class. Bow can also be good for damage, and gives you distance, if you like that play style. Since you've got medium armor, there's also some good synergy between the passives for that and those in the bow skill tree.

I've come to love the hybrid combination of medium armor and 1H & Shield, with my Templar. That way I can be effective as both a tank and as a damage dealer, since Biting Jabs became stamina-based. It also makes solo'ing public dungeons quite easy, as your shield takes the heavy blows from bosses, with your Templar passives making your blocking more effective.

With 3 block enchantments this build also works quite well in PvP, very survivable despite a lack of self heals.

Ransack/Biting Jabs/Shielded Assault/Channeled Focus/Radiant Aura is my favorite setup. With the Empowering Sweep ultimate you'll be able to tank easily despite having only medium armor, but you'll have much more stamina to block and dodge with compared to a heavy armor tank.

I suggest using Bow for second weaponset, use to aoe immobilize to control monster groups.

At level 15, you will unlock the ability to swap weapons. This will allow you to have one set of weapons on one skill bar, and another set on the other. For instance, you could use both Dual Wield and Sword-and-Shield, just on different bars.

However, there are only six weapon types available right now:

    Two-handed
    Dual Wield
    One-handed and Shield
    Bow
    Destruction Staff
    Restoration Staff

If you are looking to be a melee weapon user, then those top three are your choices.

You can use any weapon, you don't have to any thing. Shield + 1 hand is better for defense than the other two if that helps.

Also heads up, there are a few passives in the game that require 5 pieces of one type of armor, so when you start applying them, consider going 5/2 over a 4/3 ratio armor mix.

Actually, Both light and medium armor passives now require a full set of 7 pcs.

Heavy is now the only armor skill that doesn't have a passive which requires a full set

I dont like mages at all, I think I do for PVP a bow and one hand and shield, and for dungeons and stuff 2handed and 1 hand and shield.

Incorrect. The non-Heavy armor "set" passives are just badly worded. They all still only require 5, not 7.

You can test it yourself if you want to be sure.

2H is probly the best way for you to go for in your face damage. Duel wield is good but 2H will do more damage. Try and get a damage set also, something like Hundings or Nightmothers to help you out. The site below shows some of the craft able sets that are available. The stats on them are from before the 1.6 update though, just a FYI.
