Same weapon for both weapon slots?

Symposium56
I'm doing a DK DPS and was wondering about having DW as both my ability bars? Is this foolhardy and maybe do DW/2H. Or is it viable? Thanks.

I usually keep a different weapon on each bar, with the exception of probably my Sorcerer, which had 2 destro staffs. When I rolled my DK, I didn't know if I wanted to tank or do DPS. So I did both, 1H+S on bar 1, 2H on bar 2. I levelled both skill trees, and experimented with two different play styles, ultimately deciding I wanted to primarily do DPS with 2H. For my Templar, it's 1H+S tanking on bar 1, resto staff on bar 2.

That said, it's completely fine to have the same weapon on both bars. It's not only viable, it can make you even more effective/powerful.

Most annoying part is having to hAve two sets of weapons. So if one set is better than the other you're damage will suffer

While that is undeniably true, I find that generally the 'alt' weapon is there for me for long-running DoT/Shield/Heal-type skills which I trigger then swap back to my main weapon set for actually hitting things.

I wouldn't use it for both bars, not much reason to.

I'd recommend Deltia's Bloody Butcher build, which uses Dual Wield for damage and then 2Hand for self buffs.

Do what feels right for you. I never liked having two different weapons because it messes with the flow of my abilities. It is easy to manage and it uses less skill points.

Sometimes you can work with it, sometimes you can't. Tanking with two sets of shields works just fine for me, but I wouldn't do it as DPS, I prefer greater flexibility. But if you can do it, then why not? You'll discover the weaknesses of your build as you play and adjust accordingly if you need to. I would advise you to level up another weapon or two in case that happens (you don't have to use them, just put one skill on your bar for training).
