Amour Rating required for tanks?

So iv been gone a while, and well the whole game as changed as far as stats go. Now my main WAS a sorc tank, in light amour with bound amour, it was a magic based build with vary high health regin rates in combat, with a smaller stamina pool. Now i know stats no longer cap from what i understand however what is a good amour rating to aim for as a tank? 3k 5k 10k? and also is it feasible to use light amour as a tank with the recent changes to sorc. id like some feed back to see if i need to head for the heavy amour side of things now.

I don't know anything about sorcerer tanks, so someone else will give you specific advice, but light armor is tissue paper now. The mitigation hard cap is around 32k I hear, 20k is probably a decent number to aim for - you can bring it 5k higher with Major Resolve (or Ward for spell resist).
