Help with NB build for 1.6

Hello I have just recently returned to ESO after having been away for almost a year. I would like to make a NB but I am having some trouble deciding how to build him. I don't really know much about the class other than you either run stamina or magic. I have no real knowledge of the class after that.

So first let me ask what is the biggest difference between stamina based and magic based? What kind of skills do you concentrate on with each, what weapon sets would you slot for each. Would you use medium armor for both or wear light with magic based? After the 1.6 patch is one clearly more dominant than the other? Is one more stealth based and one more in your face or can they both be ran either way? Would it be more beneficial to make a hybrid? Are hybrid builds even really viable at all? If so how would you build that, what skills, what weapons?

Also if it makes any difference my wife and I play together, and we are planning on both playing a NB. We both play PVE only we never pvp. We are both interested in dps more than support.

Wb Dont think you will find any help here, it's rare that people help others with build questions on these forums.

I wish it wasnt tho I could use some guide too.

Hybrids are out in 1.6. a lot are going stam NB builds atm due to ZoS changing Ambush and Surprise attack to stam based abilities (just cos they can, the reasoning is truly beyond me). So those who were magicka NB got the bumming of a life time.

Can you guess what I was before 1.6 ???



I actually went NB healer, simple build 5 Healer 5 Mara 2 Torug. Sword Shield Bar 1. Masters Restro bar2.
It is a lot of fun to play... And I can heal in vet dungeons with him.

Two Hander / Bow Stam is prolly the way to go atm. Using PvP ability Vigor for heals & Power extraction for weapon damage.
I have seen some truly insane single target damage from stealth..... I will keep the damage numbers off the forum. Just that the amount was enough to kill 2 players in one go.

You keep the dmg numbers off the forum's because the legion of Sorc's who got screwed by the update and are still at the bottom of the group would troll you to the ground hehe. I don't blame you though, if I was doing 29k Ambushes (omg I let it out!) I'd keep it hush hush too

29k........ too low. ....much too low..... I know someone (I verified it) who did double that as a stam two hander NB... He has got his rotations down to a tee.

I don't doubt it, I was only referencing what I've seen personally and I don't have the best gear.

Stam 2hander NB is pretty solid at the moment with 5 med/2 heavy. Bow as a secondary weapon for ranged AoE.

Personally i'm running 3 stam, 1 health, 0 magicka for a stats ratio.

Bar 1:

Stampede
Surprise Attack
Wrecking Blow
Reverse Slice
Siphoning Attacks
Ultimate: Soul tether

And for the bow: (i'm currently working towards this build)

Anti-cavalry Caltrops
Scorched Earth
Focused Aim
Evil Hunter (for crit)

Not sure on the last skill or ultimate yet though - Possibly Shooting Star from the mages guild and pretty much anything stam-based for the 5th slot?

All work in progress really - and this is PvE heavy. I'll probably switch it all out once I start getting into PvP though. If I get into it, that is!

I'm no pro-build gamer but this seems to work for me!

I'm thinking of taking surprise attack out and going with brawler to give me an AoE shield.

1.6 totally ruined my hybrid 50/50 Nightblade; several attribute and morph resecs later I still can't find an approach that works.

You either go Stamina and are able to do damage or you go Magicka and accept the fact that all you have to throw at your enemy are gummibears.

So the "full on 49pts on health" build is now history? Thought so...

I currently have my 20 points in health and do like the fact that I'm not killed that easily, but there were 1 or 2 occasions, where I would run out of Stam (and once on Mana!).

So I'm currently putting the other point I'm getting into Stam. Didn't try out the 2H, but sounds fun
