How many hours do you need to be logged off each day to get max enlightenment?

Thanks for the information everyone! I was grinding those blue ogres in Reaper's Marsh and with enlightenment was getting about 1,860 points per kill without enlightenment it went down to 465.

I don't really get the whole point of this.

It's BONUS xp. You don't have to have it. You can play with ZERO Enlightenment. I log on after work, get my enlightenment msg, play 2-3 hours (questing), then log off. Only once did I get the message that I was no longer enlightened. But ya know what? I still kept on playing. Why? Because I was having fun. I even dinged (VR9 to VR10). You DO NOT need to have enlightenment to play. You will still level. You will still continue to accrue Champion Points.

And for those that choose the lifestyle of "grind grind grind" rather than enjoying the rich lore, beautiful graphics and engaging quests, then enlightenment is something you will obsess over. Means you have to kill more monsters.

If that's how you want to play, great. You're just missing out on so much content. I mean, come on. Is that 0.35% more light armor protection really worth spending hours killing monsters? I just know when the first person gets ALL of the possible Champion Points in the game, they'll brag "I WON!! LULZ!" But did they? I can review my character sheet and inventory and see the trophies I picked up, the skill points, laugh at some of the inside jokes and just funny lines some of the NPCs say.

Yeah, you got there first, but you didn't win.

Unless you've completed Cadwells Silver and Gold (long ago) and pretty much most of the available quests!

Unless you've completed Caldwells Silver and Gold twice, three times, with zero new content available. Don't assume those grinding are "missing out on so much content." It may just be that we've been there, done it all - several times.

Unless you've completed Caldwell's Silver and Gold four times, with zero new content available, and got the Explorer and Tamriel Hero titles 8 months ago, Monster Hunter and Boethia's Scythe (DSA hardmode) titles, got to Alliance Rank 20 6 months ago, maxed out your Undaunted passives, got to level 12 Legerdemain already, and have been running (or even teaching) AA and HRC Trials for months and have basically multiples of all the Sets therefrom, and want to enjoy Sanctum Ophidia runs again after 1.6.5 which requires over 90 CP (I did it with 78, but I LOATHE grinding) and have multiple VR 14 toons who have no non-grinding way to get XP the way that my VR 8 character has no problem getting from quests whatsoever (I held back one character for this in anticipation of this stupid Enlightenment implementation, and created an entirely new one, too, that's having fun at level 16 but NOT contributing towards having fun with my long-term friends and guildmate's activities).

There is no choice but to grind while enlightened to stay competitive in PvP, and not much better choice if you still want to run Trials (as that's really all long-time VR 14 characters have to do). The "grinding" I've done is just to bash on wasps and scorpions in Craglorn, as I truly LOATHE grinding (not that I even know where this takes place after Spellscar was nerfed, since I refused to do it anyways). You like rich lore? I do, too, but I've done every quest in this game 4 to 7 times (counting Beta, where I got to VR 1). I imagine not too many people -play Saxhleel characters with names in the Jel language as I do!

Then again, the CP grind is not nearly as bad as the AP grind will be to get my main those new, stratospherically-high level PvP skills (I haven't played organized PvP for 6 months until very recently, but I well know the time sink involved).

Not a single one of my characters did any "grinding" (I use these scare quotes to differentiate "high xp gain grinding" versus the inefficient, pointless grinding it takes to get past VR 10 when content runs out) to get their levels.
