Spell Resistance Revisited - Apprentice Constellation Confirmed Broken.

After extensive retesting today in Cyrodiil with my wife, I have obtained the following data and come to the following tentative Spell Resistance/Armor and Spell/Armor Penetration formulas. These are different than my previously derived values. Note, this is still a work in progress, and I'm currently not sure how to properly reconcile the small differences in my estimates vs my actual numbers. The premise and scaling should remain constant for extrapolation of optimal DPS setups.

Damage Multiplier = 1- (TRUNC((RESISTANCE - PENETRATION) ÷ 63000),2)

While the numbers are not posted here, Focus Rating is increased by the raw Spell Penetration % listed in a the Apprentice Constellation (+5% increases pen by 5, 12% by 12, etc). The Apprentice Stone increases Focus Rating by a set 3200. A Sharpened Weapon increases Focus by 240%.

    Man, I really hope they have spent the last week focusing on all these extremely broken mechanics. If not the game is going to be an absolute joke for the first month afterward.

    Spell pen formulas appear to be completely broken, especially when you stack light armor spell pen with nirnhoned weapons such as nirnhoned staffs. This causes 100% or nearly 100% of spell resist to be completely ignored, making spell resist a worthless stat in pvp.

    It's still a pretty number on your screen, don't you like numbers? ZOS thinks you do, seeing all the extra digits they've given us.

    In the meantime, this is just more reason we need to shield stack 24/7.

    Nirnhoned weapons work just like Sharpened weapons do, but with MORE Spell penetration. So that 240% is increased to nearly 4-500%. I didn't get to test them out myself, but since even top-tier tanks can only get about 35k Armor or Spell Resist, and average PVPers will only have around 10-20k SR then a Nirnhoned will indeed bypass all of their SR.

    yep spell resistance/pen needs tweaking. Especially now with armor rating affecting it or heavy armor remains useless forever.

    Well since light armor wearers are taking full physical damage now, it only makes sense for casters to do full magical damage.

    Spell penetration has *never* worked right, even in Beta. Spell Resistance is a worthless stat in 1.6 for sure. The new Light Armor spell resistance increase is a joke. The new mitigation curves are probably designed with the fact in mind that it's impossible to roll with less than 6-7K spell resistance now and most people will be rocking 10-20K.

    ZoS doesnt care about that stuff. If its not obvious to a casual user they will just let it go for as long as they can till they are required to do something about it. It took FOREVER for sharpened to be fixed.

    Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
    Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
    Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
    Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
    Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
    Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
    Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.
