Noooo! It is bad enough that people already often kill them at outposts when they come in from the side and you have to wait forever for a respawn. I needs my siege ASAP after taking an outpost don't encourage people to target them.

You can have the achievement when my siege merchant stops running through the unopened wall after getting hit with siege that shoots that wall to his death... Freaking suicidal merchants
My favorite siege merchant death is when enemy NPC's kill the roaming siege merchants. It happened in an earlier patch, I don't think it happens any more.
I tried to heal the yellow siege merchant and his bodyguard but ultimately I ended up watching them die.
Enemy wandering siege merchants are lootable too I think.
Killing the siege merchant all started as a joke in our guild one night, but it stuck because of a incident attacking a mine where we all rushed round to corner to kill him, only to find 15 Red hidden behind him.
Now normally after taking a flag we see who can kill him first.
