Alchemy revamp

Given that the way that buffs are applied has been re-engineered, should you not also revamp Alchemy such that it can provide any of these buffs (and some of the rebuffs). Currently it does not seem to be nearly as interesting or useful as the buffs do not stack. Hence having access to buffs that are harder to get might make it more interesting?
