2 Weeks of testing lost to bugs - will release be delayed as a result?

1st week lost due to insane damage bug
2nd week lost due to same bug + loss of health bars

Wondering if ZoS will fix the bugs, give us more time to test and push back the release?

They said end of February so I would imagine no, and they'll fix bugs after release..... As that's what they usually do, but they may hold it back a week or two, who knows.

Pushing the release of the patch to live is a good idea.... PTS is a disaster right now.

I'd say with a Saturday pts patch that it's about to go live, which is great as I'm tired of waiting :)

It could be (HAS BEEN) worse as far as bugs. Hopefully they've done some awesome bug smashing with this next patch.

I am not aware of it but has any prior patch had some severe bugs like the +100k hits? Didn't think so.

If something like that hits live servers... yeah, we'll have an emergency maintenance. Or more than one.

Better hope that Saturday's patch fixes the damage bug as 1.6 will be live by this time next week.

A year ago when I was testing this game on the PTS I said that the game had a year's worth of development needed before it should be released. With how substantial the changes are in patch 1.6 I'd say that there's at least 6 months' worth of testing needed. I know that won't happen, but releasing buggy patches is worse for a game in the long run.

That might not be up to the actual development team themselves. I imagine they're under immense corporate pressure to release updates now now now now. It's a sad fact I'm too familiar with. Corporate monkeys throwing feces and thumping their chests over imaginary concerns.

The damage bug, Nirnhoned bug, looking at map while riding -> back to where you started bug, no hair bug, no group & alliance indicators nor health bars bug, ultimate gain buff regularly stops from being applied (=no ultimate gain) for my DK -> must relog bug... Certainly this patch is needed because it must not go live like this.

Additionally, however, the whole Champion system is severely flawed in the long run. We have seen how extremely overpowered characters become as they gain CP. 300 CP vs 70 CP vs 0 CP - there are significant advantages for those who have more CP. If people have already been complaining about DKs over the past year... just wait and see, when grinders get their hands on lots and lots of CP over the next few months. Either it's going to be horrible for new players, or the Champion system will be nerfed one way or another (accelerated gain of CP for those who don't have many CP or the passives themselves are nerfed). Either new players will not be happy or old players with lots of CP will not be happy as their efforts will have been in vain. Experience buffs are really starting to look like pay to win, that's how important the Champion system is. This will apply to both PvP and PvE. And what satisfaction is there in PvP for defeating, essentially, someone who never had a true chance to defeat you, no matter what their skill? Well, I suppose you can always take on more enemies at the same time... And on the other hand, grinders will rule over those who grind less in PvE trial times. The Champion system is supposed to be something that looks over the longterm, but its current implementation is shortsighted.

So my V10 NB was having an excellent fight with a V14 sorc...it looked as if this was going to take a while I was relishing the battle. Dps was sustained.....health was up and down but pretty constant. I am sure my opponent was too......right upto the point 4x V14 of his/her mates jumped me.

Evidently there is lots of satisfaction to be had :(

I hope so, I think things are looking really bleak for some classes for PvP testing. It would be safe for them to delay it for a week or two, as the console releases is in march I think they designed this to be released in February so they have a cushion in case of problems with the PTS.

I disagree, not about the bugs because this game will always have bugs. However they need to fix the MAJOR bugs before it hits live. Not fixing them is how they got into this position in the first place. They spent so much time "fixing" the game and letting major bugs slip by and players unsubbed because of those bugs. Now imagine if past updates didn't have those one or two major bugs, and ZOS fixed those in PTS before it hit live. Would we have had those other minor bugs? Yes, would players have unsubbed? No.

That is the difference, tolerance level. If ZOS didn't spend so much time revamping the VR Zones, VR leveling system, basically the whole game would we have had Imperial City, Spellcrafting and maybe even Wrothgar by now? I'd say probably. They need to learn from past mistakes and leave this in PTS another week until they FIXED the major bugs. (Major bugs means bugs that will make a noticeable amount of people unsub)

At the outset (testing 1.6 before the horrific 2h dmg) i wanted it to go live as soon as dmg/healing/surviability was determined with all the new values.

Now with how it's playing, this feels like we're plunging live into beta. Please wait a week.

So with Champion points AA is now a solo dungeon. Enjoy! People are going to be so OP it will be pointless to do any dungeons.
