Why is there no stamina morph for Molten Whip?

This is a quintessential melee ability. It makes zero sense to not have a stamina morph available to it.

Sias - Sorcerer / Prefect
Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

DK IS NOT JUST A TANK CLASS. #PLAYTHEWAYYOUWANT

    Stamina spec DK will use almost entirely weapon based skills and use its limited magicka pool for Green Dragon blood ... However this ability does not shine as well with out a shield! Most of the changes make a stamina spec DK weaker verses the other classes except a Sorc... Two stamina changes both are dots... No gap closer chains is broke ...unstoppable flames is nice in stamina but that's it....two big fixes for DKs

    Make two versions of changes

    1.One pulls a targets to you...
    One pulls u to the target....

    2.Stamina version of flame whip....

    I really wish they would give Molten Whip a stamina morph, but I just don't think they will. I'm not sure why as it is a melee ability. I mean Nightblades got Killers Blade, Ambush, Surprise Attack, And Drain Power. Why can't DKs have Unstable Flame, Burning Breath, Molten Whip(or Flame Lash), and Inferno?

    I can see why it would be nice but I really enjoy the magicka melee caster DK thing, its unique and dpsing in pve with whip is way more entertaining than crushing shock rotation.

    The stamina DK is lacking an instant and strong DPS skill, such as surprise attack for the NB. This is the reason why I'd love to have a stamina version of lava whip. Give it a name that indicates it now deals physical damage instead of fire damage in order to remain realistic.

    Unstable flame is a great skill in PVE, but in PVP it's kinda useless because of how the damage shields work in 1.6. Having a burst damage skill would greatly help.

    The idea would be:
    - PVE: unstable flame for sustainable damage over time
    - PVP: stamina version of lava whip for burst DPS in melee range (can be blocked, ....)

    Whip should have a stamina morph. It is an essential ability for all melee based dragonknights.

    TBH Whip stamina version will be great addition and wont hurt balance.

    I was watching TV in another tab and just came back, this was opened. I just realized something that would be pretty substantial PvP wise.

    If a Dragonknight has a Whip morph that's stamina... Then they'll all migrate over to medium armor sword/board and be that much harder to kill due to having a lot more stamina and being able to save all, or most of their magic for GDB... Just a thought, a thought I'd rather not think about :scream:

    If ZOS wants this game to be realistic, then they need to make it to where everyone in Light armor dies in 1-2 shots from everything, regardless of damage shields. they also need to make 2H weapons break blocks, and completly remove block-casting from the game.

    In fact, ZOS would have to remove all magical attacks and abilities from the game, oh and make siege insta kill anyone it hits.

    You see where i'm going with this.

    Most Dks are already doing this but with a 2hander. Crit rush, Burning Breath, Petrify, Wrecking Blow, Executioner Is a devastating Combo. A sword and board Med DK will not be able to get the same weapon power as a 2h DK (rightfully so), so as long as Lava whip does not scale to provied more dps than a wrecking blow build (that has a cast time) I don't see the issue. I am pretty sure That I want to go Heavy Armor in 1.6, but Med s/s (twin sisters) could be down right disgusting with or without lava whip. Especially if I could somehow get my magicka regen to a level that could keep RS up every 4 seconds, 100% up time on spiked armor, and reserved magick for GDB... I know what I will be testing when the PTS comes back up.

    Just do what I do with my Stamina Recovery, I use WW for the added 15% Stamina Recovery, an Enchantment with Stamina Recovery, an Enchantment with Stamina Cost Reduction, and Block Cost Reduction. You can basically reverse the Enchantments and get a Two Spell Cost Reduction Enchants instead of the Block Cost Reduction one and then get a Magic Recovery Enchantment for your third piece of jewelry. However, there isn't a +15% to magic recovery option out there, closest I can recommend is Vampire, and that's iffy. Then use two pieces of Light Armor for the added Reduction and Recovery, that's basically by build in reverse.

    I'm a Light Armor Dragonknight wearing two pieces of Medium Armor and I have 126 Stamina Recovery with GDB up, and 143 Magicka Recovery, so I can keep Reflect up 24/7 and still have the Stamina I need to roll dodge and block.

    It's been nerfed anyway, wouldn't bother with a STA version. If they made it apply another dot or something it might be useful, but it is a waste of dps on your bar now, and isn't an effective way to pressure an opponent in PVP when you have far better tools.

    Would provide nice synergy for stamina builds having a damage-based heal in Molten Whip + stamina regen from GDB.

    Also, I don't see why it shouldn't be a stamina morph. Doesn't seem like it would hurt much.

    It hasn't been nerfed. Magicka builds have been nerfed. If it scaled off stamina and weapon damage instead of magicka and spell power I bet it would hit pretty hard. Getting weapon damage over 3k isn't hard. spell power is a different story.

    I hope they balance magicka and stamina, but still whip is a melee ability and needs a stamina morph.

    Leave the lava whip alone. Giving lava whip a stamina morph ( a melee attack with high dmg and decent range ) is all the other classes need to cry nerf! yet again.

    I haven't seen anyone on this thread say anything about a stamina dk being crappy. Stamina Everything is OP in 1.6. Game balance is jacked. That isn't what this discussion is about. It is about a melee class ability not getting a stamina morph.
