Cash Shop Feedback:

I am not a fan of B2P or F2P games and I fear the items in the cash shop is only the beginning of the end. That being said here is my feedback which most will likely disagree with. lol.

Consumables:
These are not priced to sell and will likely generate little to no revenue with how they are currently are on the cash shop.

Potions:
These are not worth 200 crowns for 20 potions.

Recommendation: Drop the cost to 50 crowns for 25 potions and make them duel potions.
Potion 1: Health and Magicka.
Potion 2: Health and Stamina.

Make the value 10% less then the crafted potions.

Soul Gems:: Reduce cost to 100 crowns for 10 soul gems.

Repair Kit Pack: Reduce cost to 200 crowns for 20 kits.

The above will be generate more revenue even with less crowns per purchase as it means more players will be buying them.

Mounts:
Increase cost by 25% across the board. Add more expensive mounts with special effects. This should be a great revenue stream.

Pets:
Increase cost by 25% across the board. Add more expensive pets with special effects. This should be a great revenue stream.

Costumes:
This is one of the best ways to generate revenue for ESO and yet the costume mechanics suck. There needs to be many changes made to the system for this to generate good revenue.

1: Create a Appearance Tab similar to the current Equipped Tab. Each slot should have an equippable appearance item.

2: Add an addition costume item CLOAK . Players go crazy for Cloaks and has it many design possibilities.

3: Sell the equippable appearance items on the cash shop (some are still in game from other sources).

Special Effects
Another f2p game I used to play added special effects into their cash shop and I loved it. It generated great revenue and was not a P2W element. Would think this is something that ESO can do without to much trouble.

Example:
Class: Dragon Knights
Ability: Fiery Breath
Normal Effect: Exhales a flaming blast. This looks like a red breath attack.
Cash Shop special effect: Changes the color to Blue

This is just a colors change but will likely generate revenue. Has no impact on the game. (well it may confuse some pvp'ers).

=====================================
=====================================

Overall I do not want to see P2W elements in ESO and to combat that I hope things like cosmetics generate enough revenue that ZoS does not begin adding the P2W elements in game. I know the consumables blur this line, but as long as they are weaker then crafted potions then I can grudgingly accept them. Much rather see these then XP pots.

This is my opinion which likely few agree with though. Please voice yours.

So, what you are saying is they should raise prices on things that matter(mounts/sortof[notreally]pets), give certain things special effects making it exactly what they said they were not going to do, and instead of being reasonable *** us up the ass?

Honestly, everything in the cash shop is garbage at this point. I wouldn't use any of that stuff and I certainly wouldn't buy it. That said I'd love to have an Ebony Armor costume that is like the armor in the game except I wouldn't have to have divines trait on every piece.

Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

Nothing in the cash shop should matter in any real sense. It should be more about vanity. I normally dont like consumables even in a cash shop but in ESO I dont mind as long as they are weaker then normal crafted pots.

The main issue is the vanity items in ESO currently wont be enough to generate enough revenue. This can lead them to adding new items until it turns into P2W. Rather it be talked about now and hopefully prevent P2W making an appearance.

Taking a look at the current cash shop and I know I will never purchase anything on them. This is not good. If I like the game and think it has a future then I like to support it by either the optional monthly sub or through in game purchases. (Only f2p game I felt this way about was Path of Exiles and if it wasnt for desynces I would still play). If ESO makes no revenue from its cash shop then it will likely be changed to include features we rather not see.

    I dont mind buying:
A costume to get a certain look.
A mount if it fits my character.
A different spell graphic if its something I use often and love the new look.

There needs to be enough in a cash shop so an average player spends $5-20 a month on purchases. Right now there is not. I wont be buying anything from the cash shop when this goes live though I will be subscribing. (Will just save crowns for now). This worries me greatly.

Even if they dont increase the cost of mounts and pets (which imo are pretty worthless) they need to do something.

Hmmm..bought one mount, one pet, some costumes, Imperial upgrade and that's the sum total of everything I wanted. I hope there's more options when it goes live.

Costuming needs to be overhauled though. Why is it so hard to duplicate successful ones (like LOTRO)? Heck I would be happy if we could dye the costumes but that's not an option either.

So I'll stay subbed, largely because the game is still fun for me to play but the cash shop really is a joke at this point. There's not enough variety, simple as that.

Feedback from a player who consistently spends a fair bit of cash in these shops:

    - The preview feature is brilliant. I was shocked to see it even works on mounts
    - You are going to sell a million of the panther pets. Please add more pets, too
    - The potions are overpriced (relative to other items in the shop) and of questionable value. As easy as it is to acquire basic healing/ magicka/ stamina potions in-game, I question whether anyone will buy these
    - I assume you'll introduce some kind of exp booster potion sometime. Those will sell well, but not if they're priced like the current ones
    - I hope costumes will override buffs like bound armor
    - Morphs are a brilliant idea. If you introduce a goblin morph, I guarantee at least one sale ;)

So far, so good. Particularly as I didn't see any gamble-boxes in there. Those things are an effing scourge, so I hope they remain absent.

I agree with most of the points made in this post and am glad you're leaving usable feedback. I too think that the consumables as a whole were a bit underwhelming. Since we know that a monthly sub gets 1500 CP a month, that's 100 per $1. That means that 20 health potions cost $2. Potions go pretty quick while you're playing, so this could be a good source of cash, but I think, as others have mentioned, the entry price may be too steep for their general usefulness that just might not be there.

I like the idea of upping to two stat potions, as it's still below the premium quality in game right now, but at that point could actually be a feasible purchase. This could especially be useful for lower level characters or new players who don't have access to all the alchemy ingredients or the knowledge of how to make better potions. It could also be a quick "need it now" purchase for people in PvP (again not as good a the "tri-pots" but still potentially worth it in a pinch).

Items like this, in my opinion, are still fair to the other players not buying them, but also could still have an actual use. I think it will be important for the profitability of the shop to have items that aren't one time purchases like costumes and mounts that continue to sell well down the line.

I was very impressed with the preview feature as well. Most other MMOs have a preview feature, but they are in a smaller window and nothing like this one. Love it. Would love it even more if we had that feature to use on BoE gear, items linked in chat, and Crafting stations.

I agree about the Panther. People like wicked looking pets just as much if not more than domestic little house pets.

The costumes are ok. But they could be oh so much better. Consider adding costumes with more flavor. Or morphs as mentioned above.

Cloaks - I read somewhere that one of the Devs has some kind of agenda against cloaks. Not sure why, since you see them everywhere in the lore including the main trailer for ESO. You could make LOTS of money selling cloaks. People just dig the cloak man. It's been that way in every MMO I've ever played.

It's not that they have an agenda against cloaks, they're just hard to implement without doing nasty things to peformance.

I do love the preview. I'm sure more costumes are coming. Prices on pets and mounts seems fine so far. (I'm basing everything on what the 3000 Crowns I'll get on conversion for my ongoing sub would buy me.)

I'll agree that the prices on consumables aren't in the right spot yet. A lower price for the same amount seems like a good start, maybe 100C for 20.

Most everyone in my guild is excited about at least a couple things in the crown store. Whether that be the jester/wedding dress/Draugr costumes, guar mounts, senche-panther/bantam guar/house cat/wolfhound pets, repair kits, etc. We also have a guild member that has no real interest in any of that and plans to save all of her crowns for the DLC packs just in case she decided to unsub from ESO+ at some point.

Just because something doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean the shop isn't appealing to others. I think the store is in a pretty good place right now, sure some specifics need to be ironed out but as a whole it's a good start. It has options for silly and fun things, as well as some options for those that are into RP(chef, blacksmith and the costume packs).

Things like the potions and soul gems are meant to be attractive to new and leveling players, not those of us who already have well established characters at endgame who have no need for things that scale with our level.

As a side note I noticed a lack of XP and crafting boostrs in the store, I was under the impression these were already in due to this statement from the OP of the Crown Store wishlist thread:
As part of Update 6, we are introducing the Crown Store: an in-game store where you can purchase customization and convenience items. The store offers consumables you can use to save time on in-game activities (like experience and crafting boosters, for example) along with new customization options including costumes, exotic pets, and mounts

I love the guar mounts and a few of the new horses. most of the pets are cool. I have to say I am a bit disappointed with the costumes. Most are just enemy skins and not even cool ones at that. The polymorph is an okay one but id only run it in pvp. I think there needs to be some more creativity in the costume dept. Nothing in there looks any different that gear I can already find. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE vanity items and spend way too much money on them in games and im happy to do so. But I wouldn't purchase 1 of the current costumes. Aside from maybe the polymorph for pvp.

My RP friends are going nuts over the pets. One of them gave birth yesterday to an Alfiq-Raht, and plans to use the housecat pet to aid in showing her "daughter" (even though every Khajiit knows the difference between a common housecat and an Alfiq). People are talking about the panther pet being used to RP a Pahmar, another Khajiit variety. Someone else wanted to do a buddy-cop shtick with a gruff character and a peppy little Alfiq spellcasting sidekick. So many imaginative things. With the bridal costume, I'm sure you'll be seeing some interesting weddings that will make every elf hide their face in shame. It will be glorious.

I just hope they stay in line with the lore and don't get crazy with what they add such as effects that change color, etc. We don't want to see players running around with my little pony as a pet or stars coming out their backside because someone thought it would generate revenue. But basically, if capes/cloaks would be implemented (If implemented), that will need great design and even more powerful PC from player - especially from PvP'ers - can you imagine animationg ~50 cloaks on one battle (every single one animated separately)?

For costumes: more "lore-wise" or based on real live armors, or even based on something created by players from existing sets/parts:

The idea was taken from eso-fashion (and adapted to my character :p )
Maybe this smells like LotR, but looks (in my opinion) great for (elven) archers.

Not really interested in any of the mounts there. Only mount I have ever wanted was a camel.

Costume wise I will be buying the chef outfit in live - only fair I should as I have been asking for one since launch!

I bought a pet cat to test but I'm not really interested in pets. They just get in the way. I would have liked a piggy for my chef though.

Costumes will probably be the only thing I buy but I would really like (indeed need) the option to not use the head covering part of the costume. My Santie Claws has this thing where she is still wearing her level 6 hat and never takes it off - not for any costume.

It does seem that $1 equals about 100 crowns. The Digital Imperial Upgrade costs $20, and it was 2100 crowns in the Crown Shop.

By that conversion factor, if anyone gives you $4 for a package of 10 grand soul gems, you guys deserve that money.

They should add an item that can change traits on exisiting gear, like the 2 set undaunted sets. Like they said, they would only add convenience items.

Make it cost 500 crowns for 5 charges so that people would have to buy at least 2, and the higher prices makes them think about their choices beforehand.

I logged in during the test event and had zero crowns to spend and could not participate. After previewing I thought prices seemed fine for the most part but potions seemed a little high. The guar mounts are very nice looking. I'd like to see characters stay on screen during the pet preview. Also in preview the chef hat covered my Argonian's eyes.

They should rather add this for in game gold. With the upcoming thief system in 1.6 there will be tons of gold being dumped into the economy, even with the daily fence limit. I don't see any gold sink compensating that.

An NPC that randomisez the trait on an item for 2,3,4 or 5k could generate a good gold sink. And yes, RNG for the sake of a better gold sink and to maintain the value of gold.

    Here's my feedback :)

I think the preview feature is really nice (there was a small bug for me with my character's face changing when I previewed costumes, submitted that as /bug ingame). I also like how non-intrusive the crown store icon is in the UI.

I wish there were longer background texts for the mounts (especially the horses). I would love to learn more about the specific horse breeds.

The pets all look simply amazing.

Really glad that there are no gambling or pay to win items so far.

I wish costumes could be dyed like armor with different colors.

I wish pet and mount names were visible to other players.

Forgot one thing: Most of the new horses are in a black and white theme (or gray like the Yokudan Charger) and many have white manes and tails. They look really nice but it would be great to have more brownish horses as well (brown horse with a dark or black mane!) :)
