The new shrinking circle visual for using a targeted AOE ability needs to be removed

When you use a targeted AOE ability (such as Healing Springs, Caltrops, Negate, Arrow Barrage) it puts a yellow circle highlight on the ground. When you activate the ability, instead of the yellow circle disappearing instantly, it now shrinks smaller and smaller before disappearing.

This needs to be removed from the game. I can only think of one reason why this was added- it's tells a player if their ability was activated. However, this is not needed and looks terrible.

Elder Scrolls prides itself on minimalist UI. The current yellow circle is fine- it's subtle and no one complains about not being able to see it when needed. However, the new shrinking circle animation is just plain awful. It looks cartoonish, and this is NOT the feeling you want when playing ESO.

@Pyatra, in what way? The yellow does not last the duration of the cast?

OP, i'd like to see it as a toggle in the settings. Personally, I prefer the old view, helps be see that I planted the effect exactly where I wanted, and the area is covered - not so easy to see this when it collapses to center.

I actually love it for a variety of reasons.

1. It gives a stronger visual indicator that the spell is being cast.
2. It demonstrates how the engine is determining the best location to cast the circle in the event that the exact spot you aimed at is invalid (which was a huge issue before).

...two is a variety.

If anything leave it as a toggle.

No, a timer until touchdown. Lightning Flood in NO way is actually instant. Helps with getting your timing down to hit moving targets in PVP or estimating where to fire to hit stealthy players. Once you get used to it, it really isn't needed.

C'mon, be real. They add something, if the majority like it or is indifferent, it will stay. No toggle.

I am not nuts about it either.. I mean.. they took the deer out to reduce the graphics lag and then added this to placing seige? Also added it to Cinderstorm. It.. feels like a delay before the skill fires.

I noticed that as blazing shield wore off the circle would start collapsing. I like it.

Really? Box is checked, no new effect necessary / Box not checked, new effect takes place as normal?

By your argument, it never would have changed.

It's a major visual effect that affect many skills, why on wouldn't they offer the option to display the current way vs the new way.

They have settings options for far less. Get over yourself.
