Glory Vs Oppression

So Radiant Oppression is all the rage at the moment. But has anyone actually tried Radiant Glory?

Radiant Glory (morph): This ability heals the caster for 20% of the amount of damage dealt by the ability

My thinking is that most people used biting jabs over puncturing for the semi-execution mode, but I've always used puncture for the heal-while-dps-goodness. Glory only restores 20% and isn't AOE so I know the heal could be miniscule in some situations. But how often does anyone have 100% magika for the full buff to Oppression? Does it make a difference as an opener? Being in EU I dont have my character over on PTS yet and to hell with leveling a template. Any opinions?

Agreed. Whoever came up with the design should be shot in the foot and only admitted to hospital when he manages to find 3 other people willing to maim themselves the same way in order to accompany him.

Ultimately, any method of entering an enemy keep without breaking down the door is considered an exploit. Thanks for checking!

Might come in handy in pvp to have a heal while it is being channelled. I've tried both and can't decide which I like better.

Or burn phases on a boss that does constant aoe dmg
Bobbity Boop, this game might become poop, but I'll still play because I'm just a pile of goop!

They both have their uses. i've tried both and like both. The problem with glory, in my mind, is why bother when you can drop purifying ritual or breathe of life.

I'd prefer Glory over Oppression. Though I can't test it on pts for the same reason with you.

But, being able to heal yourself while damaging is always nice thing imo. It saves you from casting extra BoL. And maybe if you stack multiple HOTs and you just spam this over and over just like puncturing sweeps then you wouldn't have to think about your health for a while.

Having full magicka in a fight to get that 40% dmg bonus from Oppression is kinda unrealistic imo. You never have full magicka in a fight.

In PvE you always want Oppression, as there's always a dedicated healer or two keeping the group alive. If you're the dedicated healer then either you don't need to heal or you should be healing.

In PvP I still think Oppression is superior to Glory. In zerg situations you're generally either being focused by multiple people or not being attacked at all (plus there's usually a few healers around), and Glory isn't going to help you in either situation. In small group PvP or duels more damage from Oppression means your opponent is more likely to be forced on the defensive, meaning they won't be attacking you; so you don't need the healing anyway.

In general I find ZOS's insistence on adding more self-healing to various Templar skills a bit puzzling. Templars already have awesome survivability in Sun Shield and Rushed Ceremony, we really don't need any more (Total Dark? Really?).

Total Dark is useless still IMHO XD lol BUT I do think glory has it's purposes, in both PvP and PvE.

Glory definitely has is uses based on how each Templar prefers to build themselves. My preference is puncturing sweep and radiant oppression. Sweep is just too nice when aoe ing. I have always loved the Templar. My favorite class and to top it off we seem to be in very good place in 1.6. Magicka and stamina builds alike.

The thing is, for magicka Templars Puncturing Sweep is the only choice now, so we already have a DPS skill that heals; and magicka Templars already have the benefit of strong Rushed Ceremonies...

I'd prefer Templar magicka DPS get more interesting morphs instead of more self-healing which we don't really need. Yes it's nice to have options, but I'd rather have options in areas we lack rather than in areas we're already strong in.

Well with the healing is kinda extra in my mind. Especially since they upped the single target damage as well.
