This thread is not about the decimal movement that has increased our attributes/damage by a factor of 10. This is a thread about the numbers that different tooltips show concerning buffs/protection/armor/etc.
The most outstanding example I can find is crit chance bonuses. The tooltips for Expert Hunter, Magelight, and similar abilities note that our critical strike chance is increased by 2099. However, weapons show a +1% or +2% bonus to our critical strike chance, and our character tab displays critical strike chance as a percentage, oftentimes with a decimal (for ex: 20.3% spellcrit). This is also the case for statistics like spell resistance, poison resistance, and other resistances.
Would it be possible to display these long numbers all as percentages? It would be much more informative to see a tooltip that says +10.5% spellcrit, +5% fire resist, or +10% damage mitigation. For example, my lvl 27 Nord has 283 resistance to ice damage. Is this alot? or a little? Does this mean 28.3% resistance? 2.83% resistance? or is it like calculated like critical strike damage (divide by 200), giving 1.4% resistance?
Displaying values consistently across skills, stats, tooltips, & the like would greatly help us players determine whether our abilities are working as intended. If this is not possible, please explain to us why the discrepancy exists and how resistances are calculated so that we can provide accurate feedback to the developers. Thank you.
