PTS 1.6 Provisioning Changes

Good day everyone! I'm looking forward to see all your wonderful comments on the justice system and all the skill changes. You'll be the reason I don't instantly die once 1.6 goes live.. I will be able to make informed decisions. I have decided to help you out by taking on this ridiculous task of converting and looking into all the provisioning.

Stream
I will be streaming on twitch Wednesday evening start at about 4:30pm MST. This time block will be focusing on what has changed in provisioning. Specifically, what old ingredients now are, what ingredients were turned 'old' and more. Once I feel I have completed as much as possible I will move on to attempting to collect news recipes etc.

I will also be straming Thursday at the same time. Hopefully I will pick up my VR7 who has limited provisioning, and try to level it up to see how it goes.

Information Gathered
I have also start a Google Spreadsheet to track what I had on hand when characters were copied over to help me figure out what ingredients/recipes were converted to. I will be filling out the new stuff tomorrow hopefully.

I also have already figured out that..
Oats --> Bervez Juice
Tomatoes --> Frost Mirriam
They are still used in purple recipes.

If you are also working on this let me know if you need me to help confirm any findings, or if you are just curious, let me know what I should try to find out!

Wow! Some people have already thrown together a complete list of the converted ingredients!

Enjoy!

uesp.net/wiki/Online:Provisioning_Ingredients#Provisioning_Revamp_Ingredient_Conversion

As far as I can tell, I agree with everyone that has already said it... your green recipes will convert to new green recipes with the same stat increases (as in, max magicka converts to max magicka), you're blue recipes will MOSTLY convert to the same, although any level 50 blue recipes you have will convert to VR10. Purple, well, that just confusing. I had below 50 purple's and now on PTS I do not.

This is proving to be much more difficult than expected. Due to the bug of your horse inventory not counting.. my provisioning mule has lost items and therefore I will not have correct quantities to compare.

I will continue adding to the list as to what has been changed to old. Feel free to comment on the google spreadsheet if you have confirmed anything

I had the same idea to gather this info but not the work of putting it into a google spreadsheet.

Recipe conversion for green and blue seems straightforward.

Soup (green) = Mag = Fruit (this is the only green type where I am missing one recipe: saltrice slurry to confirm 100% that soup becomes fruit)

    Bread (blue) = hp/mag = Savoury
    Grilled (blue) = hp/stam = Ragout
    Soup (blue) = stam/mag = Entremet

    Beer (blue) = Liqueurs
    Spirits (blue) = Cordial Teas
    Wine (blue) = Tinctures

(all blue conversions based on recipes I am missing from each category)

    For the v10 recipes:

    Food:
red meat + tomato + radish + frost mirriam
(capon meat + goat meat + liver + tomato on live)

game + melon + carrot + frost mirriam
(chaurus meat + ? + honeycomb + tomato on live)

fish + pumpkin + corn + frost mirriam
(battaglir weeds + guar eggs +garlic or mudcrab?? + tomato on live)

I won't do drinks because I have two lists (8 and 3) without a direct match due to the same stack amount in my bank making it impossible to tell what converted to it.

Thank you very much. I'm going to look into what level green/blue/purple recipes I can make under the new and the old system. I'll fill that out tonight and post a report when I'm done.

My provisioner can make almost everything by now, so I will have a good idea of how the new recipes compare in terms of level.

Did you have a horse that was part of your bag space? If so when you log in it does not account for your horse and any inventory in those slots pretty much just went missing.

Nope. I had a stack in the bank that is unaccounted for on the PTS. The only thing I can think of is it might be converted to the equivalent of a blue recipe ingredient since I seemed to have a lot more of the blue level ingredients than I thought I should. If this is true, I'd like to know so I can use the pepper up before the conversion.

Pepper becomes OLD pepper and you vendor it.

As do all the 65g a pop store bought or writ rewarded matts to make the VR food, Imperial Mash, Pingus, etc… So use it up and make food before the patch unless you want to just get 10g for it at a vendor.

Perhaps it is just my pepper that got lost in translation then.

But since the consensus seems to be that pepper or its equivalent will no longer be an ingredient for purple food, no use keeping it around.

I think its because they wanted to retain the rarity of tomatoes, since tomatoes in the new recipes is a common ingredient

I might have stumbled on an unintended consequence for Provisioners tonight. Recipes are not found in barrels and do not usually drop from dead enemies. They tend to be found in nightstands and in houses. I was trying to find recipes tonight but it was really difficult to loot the sorts of places they usually are found. My main has most of the current recipes but l would think that the justice system is going to make it much harder to level provisioning unless recipes now drop from mobs or occasionally turn up in barrels.

This is very true. Part of my testing will include trying to level up one of my characters that currently doesn't do any provisioning. I'll be evaluating how easy it is to level up, this includes finding recipes and their claim of how at any time I should have stock to cook up some items. I believe we are just used to looting in town. Out in the wild there should still enough "furniture" to find recipes at a decent pace. As well, if recipes do end up being a lot harder to squire this may help boost the low prices of recipes.

Am I missing them now or did they seriously add frickin tacos and remove sweetrolls? In an ES game?

My main has most of the current recipes but l would think that the justice system is going to make it much harder to level provisioning unless recipes now drop from mobs or occasionally turn up in barrels.

I started a thread that questions this problem. I don't know if they addressed the problem with ultra rare recipes at low levels, but this really hurts. It would be nice if we got a basic recipe to get started on provisioning quests, since they drop from provisioner's bags. So far the responses are go look in delves and ruins for recipes. Kind of rough for lowbie toons or brand new players to get started. Since cooking is usually a low risk for lower rewards than other crafts, making it so hard to even get started isn't nice.

Since you can craft basic armor and weapons, it would be in keeping with the other crafts to get a few basics to begin with.

Making us resort to stealing sucks, and to put rare low lvl recipe issues in perspective, I've found exactly one Sunset Rose recipe on live (and I'm a barrel picking altoholic!) and I've found two Imperial motifs on a lvl 7 and a lvl 14 toon.

As an aside, I really *hate* getting meat off of lvl 1 critters. I don't mind hunting in-game, but it just seems wrong, unsporting, for the antelope etc to not have a chance to fight back.

You can buy 98% of the matts you need for provisioning from vendors now at 10g a pop. This is supposed to make honest people feel better as well as solve an "in kitchen" crisis when you just need a few more matts to finish a stack off.

Some of us just stockpile the heck out of our banks in hopes that at least half of the matts are converted into usable stuff that will cut down on what we need to steal or buy come LIVE.

Also, you may just want to start buying up the 20-50g green and blue recipes at guild kiosks to give any new characters you may have or to fill out the gaps in your main characters recipe books. I have a hundred or so of the blues and purples on a mule that converted to the new recipes just fine on PTS.

None of these are solutions to a newbie trying to find a recipe if they are BRAND NEW, but they will solve the problem for anyone else.

I think if ZOS wants us to test that our ingredients and recipes have transitioned correctly, they should provide a list of what happened to each ingredient. EG:

    "Pepper- now stale
    Goat meat- turned into tomatoes"

@ZOS_GinaBruno‌ I think this is a reasonable request and will help the players to test PTS for ZOS.

Even if they don't want to provide it for testing purposes, provide it so that we understand provisioning in 1.6. An example would be the list you posted on patch notes stating what major/minor buff terminology in 1.6 matched to what effect in 1.5.

I'm on EU so no char copy, but after obtaining some ingredients /recipes in world I feel I'm now lost in provisioning as I have no idea what "coffee" and "acai berries" replaced and in what recipes they can be used,or the strength of the recipe effect. (If that makes sense)Likewise I would have been just as lost with the new buff/debut system had ZOS not provided an "old to new" conversion list.
