Best Race for Nightblade

Hello all!

I am planning on leveling a NB alt for PVE and PVP. Not sure if I am going to go for a magika or stam. build yet.

What do you guys think are the best races for the dps roles?

Would be happy with playing the most efficient character for a long time..

I already have an idea - but I would like some advice from experienced NBs

My guess:

PVE-Magika: Breton

PVE-Stamina: Redguard

PVP-Magika: Breton

PVE-Stamina: Bosmer

Overall: Argonian, because swim speed

Can you say with 100% certainty that you will NEVER change the scope of your NB? If the answer is no, then Race doesn't matter. Meaning do you plan to be a Stamina based DPS NB forever and ever without ever even trying a Magicka build like Healer as example. Racials make a very small difference regardless of what some players think. +10% of some resource pool does NOT mean that character will do 10% higher DPS. Taking 6% less damage (although it's not really working correctly) does NOT mean Nords are superior Tanks to all others. 9% in combat Stamina regen via Bosmer doesn't remotely make or break a Stamina build, etc. Although, having WTFPWNBBQ swim speed on Argonians is very nice indeed.

It does make a difference. Even if the difference does not seem big to some.

Look HERE. Otherwise Argonian and Nord have the most generic (non-Role specific) Racial bonuses. I would've added Imperial but it has + Stamina (and not + Magicka) as well as Melee bonus (instead of all attack bonus).

It sort of depends on playstyle.

As magicka build, will you go for class skills ranged, mele, or Destruction Staff?

As stamina, will you go for mele or bow? Glasshouse sneaky gank or upfront fighting?

Altmer is the best choice for PvE dps with destro staff. Dunmer is the best race for a magicka build in PvP. I suspect both these races will be even better casters after 1.6, when Destruction Staff starts scaling of spell power.

For flexibility (because only one build and role gets boring), I'd go Imperial or Dunmer, they have passives with great stuff and perks benefiting many builds and PvE/PvP. Removal of soft-caps will make them even better. Than again, if ZoS finally starts balancing races, you might regret not making a choice based on looks or lore.

If you want to play as vamp and mostly in groups, go for Khajiit or Bosmer.
Both got a 10% dmg increase passive, working in invis too, not only in stealth. (clouding swarm)
10% Dmg increase in batswarm is better than any stat increase.

If you want to play Magicka NB in groups or solo, but not as vamp, then go for Breton or Dunmer.
As Stamina NB I prefer redguard.

In PvE u want max Dps probably, so chose what u want to play and got for either Breton or Imperial for max. Stats.

Too the Khajiit vampire thingy:
I am a Khajiit and I got clouding swarm up the whole time in groups.
I combine it with Veiled Strike for instance stuns and dealing over 600 uncrit single target dmg each hit. (only the Veiled Strike)
In groups it's rly nice to focus one enemy, take him instantly down, going for the next one and do it again.

I'm a Nord vampire...seems to work. But people are right...it most likely wont matter.

Imperials make the best race for almost any class. Health and stamina is something every class needs at some point or another. If you play a melee NB then you get the extra healing to top it off.

Stannum

PVE Stamina: Redgard WW (for melee better use 2h then duals cause steel tornado is not melee attack)
PVE Magika: Breton/Altmer Vamp
PVP Stamina: Redgard/Imperial WW
PVP Magika: Bosmer/Khajit for burst DPS gunk style or Altmer for destro DPS.
Overall: Argonian: they are stealthy while laying naked in the grass.

Magicka = Breton Altmer Dunmer, I would pick Altmer since crushing shock seems to have more dps than funnel health. if you want funnel health build with resto I would pick either Dunmer if you wanna be vampire or Breton for human nb just like the trailer, looks cool ;p

Stamina NB = Redguard, Imperial,Bosmer,Khajiit.
Best pick would depend on your style and goal, PVE I would pick redguard or khajiit [I love the wep crit %].

For pvp Stamina Bosmer would be really nice for the poison/disease resistance since many weave lethal arrow or befouled glyph on their weapons, and the dmg % on your first sneak attack not bad at all,also for Roleplay its really cool to have the shortest character possible.

Now for overall : Imperial wins, 22% stat boost is no joke, even if you pick Imperial and do a magicka build. the boost to your stats is invaluable.
Think of it this way..more base stamina and hp = more free points in magicka.
