NB leveling build?

zepfya02_ESO
Hows it going, I have no idea what build to go with while leveling. Any advice? Thanks.

You can use anything you want, but it tends to work out better if you know what kind of nightblade you want to play at endgame. Caster, melee damage dealer, or tank?
    PS4 / NA
    M'asad - Khajiit Nightblade - Healer
Pakhet - Khajiit Dragonknight - Tank
Raksha - Khajiit Sorcerer - Stamina DPS
Bastet - Khajiit Templar - Healer
Leonin - Khajiit Warden - Tank

I'm leveling my Nightblade as bow and dual wield. As you're leveling you should put a skill of each tree line in your bar that way they will all get leveled up.

What role are you going to play and what weapon(s) are you going to use?

If you want a build simply for leveling up, use anything AOE. I suggest twisted path, destro staff with pulsar, and sap essence.

heh, pulsar and sap essence are tops of skillline. And you'll open non-morphed skill near 30lev if you focus on that skill line and near 40lev without focusing. So they cannot be used for start leveling.

    This.

You can level anyways you see fit, but once you get higher in level you may find a different playstyle fits you better. If you have been doing what Surfinginhawaii said then you will have equally high skills in all the skill lines to pull skills from. As long as you stay away from putting too many points into tradeskills, by the time you are 40-50 you should have more than enough points to spread around to make several builds without spending the gold to respec.

Thanks for the replies, I was actually looking at this guide http://tamrielfoundry.com/topic/the-blade-runner-pve-dwdw-levelling-veteran-content-and-trials/ Wonder if it's still any good, thanks.

Put a Training trait on your weapons and armor, that will level them up much faster!
  • zepfya02_ESO
I have no idea what that is lol, btw what race is the best for a NB? Thinking about going with Breton, since I keep reading that magicka builds are good for end game pvp?

If you're really concerned with the racial bonuses: either Breton or high elf for magicka builds, khajiit for melee stamina builds.
    PS4 / NA

Will the race really matter that much at the end, if I make a Breton will that gimp me if I go with a stamina build. Also is the stealth bonus a big deal? Thanks.

I forgot about this, it is a very good idea and I do it on all my weapons and armor until I hit max level in those things.

I'd say every little thing matters at the endgame, and while you can balance things out with glyphs/item sets/food/etc, it would be much easier to just stick to the bonus your race provides. Just my opinion. I played my Breton NB as a stamina based Bow/DW up to v3, but it wasn't worth it. Now, with a mana build, my life is much easier.

Such a hard choice to make, wish race didn't matter as much.

redguards are great for stamina builds.
  • zepfya02_ESO
Wish you could change the race at a price at least, since now I know whatever race I choose might only work for either a stamina or magicka build.

Some skills seem quite meh until you get to the Morphs. And, you will tend to use one or two skills on a bar in most fights so those will level up/reach the cap the fastest. So, what you should do is activate other skills and either put them on the bar even if you are not going to use them, or, switch them onto your bar before you turn in quests so that they gain in level until you can Morph them.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The differences arent massive by any means, so you really dont have to go with an optimized race for a certain role. My khajiit has consistently gone back and forth from spellcaster to melee/stamina builds throughout his career and never had issues. Most of the races have at least one bonus that will work for any role.

@zepfya02_ESO - Honestly speaking, one must take into consideration, there is not one specific rule of thumb to play by. This is a game, yes there is strategy of how to build your character, but ask me and many others how many times we have built and REBUILT our characters from scratch whether we were part of beta or otherwise.
All I'm saying is that tinker, play, have fun. That's the name of the game, right all? It's not just about power leveling or what the best build is. I noticed you chose one earlier, well maybe Base Your own build off of that. This world of ESO is massive and it is ever growing. So I say, enjoy...have fun...and most of all...die figuring out what combos work best for you. (if you get my point)
