Idea: Using skills while blocking cause shield bash like normal attacks

I think your damage should just be outrighted halved while blocking.

that, or make it to where the only abilties you can block and cast are self heals.

Seems like a complex issue. There are more variables here than I currently am aware of... I've tried the block-casting play style in PVP as a Templar in full heavy armor with stamina/block enchants and my stamina still gets sucked dry pretty fast. However, I see DK's block-cast indefinitely and their stamina never seems to deplete. So, I don't know.

does dks have any bonus to blocking?

Should need to use a shield to block cast as it is now. Blocking with weapon should be more or less timed blocks to simulate parry. If timing is bad you get no block.
