An Armor Thread Not Going Into the Armor Forum

Because too few people look into it. But anyway, to catch people's attention I'm putting this thread here, and this thread is about the 5 Piece Specials that come attached to the Armor Skill Lines.

So yea, I'm of the mind that you shouldn't have to wear a full 5 Pieces of one Armor type to gain them. Instead, I'd rather see them act just like the other bonuses from the skill lines: that is to say that you should get the bonus as a per piece thing, not a dedication thing, that way you can wear whatever and how many of every piece that you want.

For a more basic view, the armor skills would resemble something like this:

Current - Medium Armor - When in 5 Pieces or More of Medium Armor, gain 12% Weapon Damage.

Proposed Idea - Medium Armor - Per Piece of Medium Armor, gain 2% Weapon Damage.

Just an idea I had. This promotes wearing way more diverse types of armor and mixing it up a hella lot more than the current way of doing things, thus....

Yay or Nay?

It is certainly a good idea. Almost all of the skills are getting reworked so hey, this might actually happen.

To add on this idea, I think the initial, u morphed skills of each armor line should be more/less effective dependent on the armor you're wearing. This would 1. Shut people up about guys in dress using immovable while 2. Allow people to have a more diverse armor set up.

You mean to use Immovable, you'd have to have at least one piece of heavy armor?! Preposterous!

I like this idea and don't really see any downsides to it.

I'm confused. Most of the armor skills are this way already. This is why lots of folks mix light/medium, or whatever.

Only one passive skill from each respective armor line--Prodigy, Agility, and Bracing--require 5-pieces for the bonus. The rest of the skills are per item.

right, hes saying the 5 set bonus should be like the other ones. And I meant the unmorphed versions of the skills... So like duration and such

I think that the 5-piece passive meshes nicely with most sets having up to 5-piece effects. Besides I don't think combinations that aren't 2-5 or 1-1-5 would be that effective anyway given that there aren't many benefits to go for a hybrid build over a pure build.

Not saying I'm against it but I don't think it would change anything if implemented.

Hybrid builds are indeed garbo in PVE... But I've had huge success with a hybrid NB in PVP

Actually, with the renewed values, you could in theory have more of what you after depending on what attribute you built towards, and if you stayed the same as most are now, you'd get a higher bonus.
