Magicka Werewolf seems way better than Stamina.

It seems with the somewhat recent ability introduced called Hircines bounty for Werewolves that Magicka is the way to go as a Werewolf. You can spam hircines bounty and heal yourself for half your health easily and just spam it if needed. I am wondering if they should make it stamina in the future or do something else about it. It seems Stamina Werewolf is just not viable because you die much faster while a Magicka Werewolf is pretty much immortal in WW form if plaid right. Now I love it so far so do not get me wrong, but I am wondering how Stamina werewolf builds will deal with not being able to heal as much and be as useful if they are not in light armor and so forth. 2 handed along with light armor seems to be the King for WW atm. Any Ideas or tips would be interesting.

    I suppose there may be a difference in pve vs. pvp but having a maxed vr14 werewolf and trying it in pvp, I have been nothing but disappointed.

    Theoretically, yes you could spam hircines bounty but to what end?

    The ultimate is costly and takes time to build up.
    The ultimate is buggy in lag and half the time misfires resulting in loss of ultimate and no transformation.
    All the ultimate you gain while transformed is lost.
    The timer is too short and you can't devour quick enough to sustain the transformation for any real length of time.

    You gain some burst dps but most any class builds can dps better when not transformed. You can boost your damage by casting rally before you transform but you will loose damage as werewolf damage abilities scale from stamina and I imagine your stamina pool will be low. Not to mention the stamina abilities are very costly so you may have to resort to mostly light attack spam.

    Heals aren't enough between the cc and poison damage you take in pvp to keep you alive and you lose access to any other skills, escapes/shields ect.

    As I see it, werewolf is only viable for the stamina regen passive, the ultimate gain in pve tanking, or perhaps for the group synergy in pvp if you run with an organized group.

    It is extremely fun, just not practical imho nor is it worth building an entire character around such a sporadic and unreliable ability. Believe me when I say, I wish it was otherwise.

    Some good points for sure. The Ult though comes up really fast now compared to what it use to be. It is only 300 ult cost now down from 800-1000 at launch of game. With the leather set Saviors Hide it would be around 200 I suppose and plus you regen 6 ultimate ever 3 seconds in combat when taking damage pretty much. Plus 2 hander with carve for 5 ultimate per enemy hit. You would have your ult up around just killing a single mob. The only thing I worry about though is If I go stamina and werewolf that I will die too easily from not being able to spam Hircines bounty with Magicka from light armor and so on. TheHircines rage morph heals you and gives a 10% damage buff is nice also. I guess in the end when this toon hits vet lvls and vet 14 I will see how it plays out more in the WW form. I guess in the end I view it more as since I am a light armor templar who uses blazing shield ability I like being able to actually live long enough to be able to use WW. I guess it is decent to be magicka as WW if I want to be a tank as WW for sure and like you say I sacrifice skill damage with less stamina but I can tank / dps hyrbid in WW form a lot better as magicka. Oh the poison claw new move or w.e is nice also. That Aoe poison dot is fun PVE.

    This right here. Multi fear, bleed, aoe healing debuff/dot, great self heal+ damage buff, knockdown, disorientation. Werewolf has a lot going for it... extend or remove the timer now you got something. Can you stay alive longer with a magica build? Sure... but that's not what werewolf is about... The best defense is a good offense when it comes to the werewolf pvping, when you start going defensive it's already over. Not going to lie running down a blinker and feeding... no better feeling :smiley:
