All DKs ever do these days is all Light armor, 1H and shield( the 1H weapon you use is your choice) root with talons, block and spam flame whip, use dragon blood when health is low, have scales ready when you are attacked by ranged users like myself, and the ultimate is either banner or batswarm; whichever you prefer.
for secondary, iv seen resto staff, destro staff, and bow many times. idk what abilties they use, sadely

That's because there is no point to heavy armor when you can get almost as much armor with light due to the diminishing returns.
You can run full light + one hand and shield, and use an armor enchant on jewelry (+600 armor) and get within about 100 armor of what a full heavy set gets.
With that..the passives for light FAR outweigh what you get from heavy.
What the game has boiled down to is Medium for Stamina build, Light for Magika, no reason to run Heavy.

But here is what I use right now
1) Invasion (CC)
2) Flame Lash (Single target burst damage)
3) Green Dragon Blood (heal/stamina sustain)

5) Burning Talons (Spam in 1vX while in cinder, having reflect up, and volatile armor up, hold block)
U: Devouring Swarm (AoE damage and heal helps you tank zergs and talons spam + elemental ring DoT tick will help you gain ultimate while skills like reflect and spiked armor, and cinder storm will help build ultimate and tank.
1) Cinder Storm (Tank skill and builds ultimate super fast when people stand in it)
2) Elemental Ring (Only used for AoE DoT ultimate gain apply every 10 seconds)
3) Volatile Armor (makes you tankier and return damage builds ultimate)
4) Efficient Purge (used to get rid of DoTs, Heal debuffs, etc)
5) Blockade of Fire/ FLEX (What skill you need atm, blockade because I use it on the floor while im up on top and cast it on the people under me on the breech at the outpost/keep. Ranged AoE)
U: Standard of Might/Dragon Leap
sets:
Warlock (Belt, Boots, rings, necklace) – Gain 33% of your magika back when you drop under 33% magika, 1min cool down.
Engine guardian set (Head Shoulders) – 10% chance when activating an ability to restore 100 stam/magika/ or health to you every .5 seconds for 6.5 seconds.
Arena (Robe, Gloves, Legs, Shield, Sword) – Increases stam, magika, and health by 100 and reduces cost of CC break by 40%
Also used panceas of health, combat frenzy tier is a must have to make this build work.

Thats the strongest build for 1vX and lasting a long time but for killing more then 2-3 good players at a time its weaker
