An Expirement

I decided to try something with my mule alt yesterday. With no exp in any crafting I ran him through all the certifications except alchemy as it is broken at the moment. Then had him do one actual writ. All the quests gave me a harvest area close to the city so minimal travel. I did have to search around a little for Jute to finish the actual writ. The result is nearly two levels of experience gained (I avoided combat as much as possible give the exp gain as 1%. Then exploration gave another 1%) and most of the crafting skills are close if not past level 2. I think it will be very good thing for new players or someone creating a new alt, although the quest verbiage needs tweaked as it sometimes sounds like only one path was an option.

The reality of the population though is that without changes this system is not going to be used.

So after doing writs in blacksmith, woodworking, clothier, provisioning, and enchanting. He has gained another level and all his skills are now level two. I haven't tested if the new change to the return location is effecting things as his skill level still puts him in the zone he is getting the writ.

You get writs specific to the level of skill dictated by the skill perks you have gotten. If your blacksmith skill reaches L15 and you spend a skill point in it to make steel you would then get writs for steel goods regardless of whether the character is L7 or L50
Oooh look, lot's of Butterflies! Wait! Butterflies? Get out of here Sheo, stop bugging me!

I am aware of this thanks. What I was referring to was the statement in the patch notes that said players would no longer be getting writs for an area they couldn't turn in at. I.E. pre 50's getting a writ that had them turn in at the vet zones. However there is another issue for those who used alts to support a main character. My level 7 can't complete his current writ as it takes him two zones above his level.

Why must the subject die in an experiment? To answer your question five times attempting to zone out to reach turn in area before I gave up on it.

But your intent wasn't to inform it was it was to sarcastically belittle and show how intelligent you are. I was likely in a hurry or tired when I posted that with the intent to show how crafting writs would effect a "new" character as I would say few have undeveloped characters. But the critique of my mistyping has added so much to that discussion, I am so glad we have you around the forums to line us all out.
