Templar Magicka Management Idea

Ghostnight013
I know for many this is a tired subject, but as a Templar it is near and dear to my heart. The most difficult part of this is to provide a small buff to a Templars magicka return without overpower the Templar in solo PvE or in PvP.

Templars initial designed was as the ultimate support warrior, this would fit this concept while at the same time not going overboard.

I'd like to propose the following idea:

Replace the passive Prism in the Dawn's Wrath line with the following:
Gain 2 Ultimate and Restore 250 Magicka and Stamina over the next 10 seconds every time one of your Synergies is used by another player.

The Magicka/Stamina return would be considered a buff, and only 1 copy could be on a Templar at a time. This prevents abuse and the slow return would help the magicka problem over the long term without buffing the burst of a Templar in PvP.

Obviously the amount of Ultimate returned and Magicka/Stamina restored may need to be adjusted...

I haven't seen anyone suggest something like this yet...
Thoughts?

PS. I included the stamina regen, since stamina seems to be ZOS's focus right now... though the stamina portion could easily be removed leaving only the Ultimate gain and Magicka return

Seems good, though ten seconds is a bit meh... I'd rework the idea so it's like chugging a pot, when someone uses a synergy you get X amount instantly and X amount over time, the X amount instantly should be larger than a potion but the X amount over time should be smaller, cause we all know Temps need that *** right away

I thought about adding some instant Magicka return, but if the magicka returned were the same as a pot... the ability would be overpowered...

Take the following DPS example: You use Blazing Spear and 3 stamina DPS pick up the spear, if it were the same as a pot you'd have over 1500 back instantly, that would be way too much.

With the Magicka return per 10s, you don't get ridiculous amounts back while getting enough back to help over the long term. Because if your tossing out say Blazing Spear every 5-10 seconds this is no longer just Magicka return over 10s... but could be an amount of Magicka back per sec for the whole fight as long as your party members use your synergies.

The whole concept behind this is to help the Templar's sustain, without removing the need for pot's completely, thus the lowish amount per 10sec... just enough to offset the costs of some of your spells (think of it like a mini-warlock set you get 1/2 the cost of a spell back every 10 seconds). This could even let you replace some of the magicka regen. you have on your gear so you can gear for spell damage or crit...

You do know only one person can grab a spear at a time right? So one spear per 3 players, you'd have gained nothing for magicka back. Second, class skills before the last slot of the tree pertain to only the tree itself, so synergies would be largely useless because Dawn's Wrath has no synergies.
Bobbity Boop, this game might become poop, but I'll still play because I'm just a pile of goop!

Ok, the spear was a bad example but the logic still applies cause again if you had a large return then every time you tossed out a spear it would be totally free... again a problem. Plus, if you are a DPS Templar odds are you are using Blazing spear already, so it's not the extra regen is costing you anything more.

Second, I'm not sure what you are talking about... class skills before the last slot? Prism isnt the last or even the second to last slot... and it's one of the first two passives that open up in Dawns' Wrath. If you can think of a better passive to replace please let me know, the whole point is to find ideas that aren't going to be OP but will still help out over the long term.

Dawn's Wrath does have a synergy by the way, it's in the ultimate. There are a number of other abilities that have synergies though... Blazing spear was just one example.... Nova(and it's morphs) or Cleansing Ritual and its morphs just to mention the Templar ones... but there are others outside the tree as well.

    This doesn't work.

The issue seems to be the ability to heal without a resto staff equipped that they are fixated on, despite it largely being a non-issue in almost every facet of play.

Better compromise, keeping in mind their assumed perspective:

Damaging Templar ability critical strikes return 25% of their cost.

Channeled Focus. That's it. Gives really amounts good magicka back to you. If you can sacrifice a spot on your main bar, it's easy to just pop it and go strait back to fighting.

would sign that if its magicka refill amount would be 2-3x its current value.
as after substracting its own cost its genereates additional 3-5 magica per second wich is nothing...

You can't require things for a class to function. Requiring a Restoring Light ability just to be able to do DPS doesn't work.

The class is hampered by excessive hard casting to begin with and this would compound that by requiring standing in a single spot. The entire caster damage delivery system is borked.

Look at the class tress. Then look at the passives. Every passive before the last slot pertains literally ONLY to the skills from that tree, with the last slot being for the class as a whole.

Isn't resource restore when activating a Synergy an Undaunted passive in Update 5? With all classes having access to that, it will still leave Templars running out of magicka before everyone else, but it is something.
