Finally got my werewolf active abilities to morphing level, here's some basic info about the morphs.

Hircine's Bounty:
-Hircine's Fortitude: Adds a HoT afterwards, the base heal for mine is around 500 and the HoT is for around 360 (at rank 1) over 8 seconds.
-Hircine's Rage: Adds a 17 second (at rank 1) buff to weapon damage for 10% (at rank one) on use.

Piercing Howl:
-Howl of Agony: Adds 30% (at rank 1) bonus to damage dealt when attacking feared enemies.
- Howl of Despair: Adds a synergy for allies to activate to increase light/heavy attack damage by 10% (at rank 1) for 10 seconds (at rank 1)

Infectious Claws:
-Claws of Anguish: Adds an automatic healing debuff to enemies attached to the DoT for 33% (at rank 1)
-Claws of Life: Adds a healing component, healing for 33% (at rank 1) of damage dealt by disease DoT ticks.

Some interesting stuff, wish I could give more detailed info about how they scale, but here it is. Enjoy, wolfies :) happy hunting.

I've been wondering this myself if I could get my hands on a Savior's Hide set my werewolf ultimate would only cost 227 ultimate thanks to the 33% reduction after the Sorc ultimate reduction from the power stone passive.

Does it say what the names of these morphs are?

I could only give you the names of the morphs I chose right now, as I was hasty in making my choice of morph to try it out and didn't write down the names of the choices I didn't pick.

I can get on later today and go respec my morphs on the PTS and edit my original post to update the names, if you'd like. I just wanted to make sure the mechanics were known first.

I'm interested to see which morphs you picked, by all means tell us what they're called =)

Sure, I'll list off what I picked. I morphed Hircine's Bounty into Hircine's Fortitude, which is the HoT. Piercing Howl I morphed into Howl of Despair which is the one that offers the synergy, and for Infectious Claws I morphed it into Claws of Life, which adds healing for the damage dealt.

However, these are just the morphs I chose to test with, I wanted to see exactly how much healing Hircine's Fortitude and Claws of Life would equate to.

Howl of Despair I'm certainly going to use live, I will use Hircine's Fortitude only of werewolf isn't going to be able to pull acceptable numbers in PvE even with the weapon damage % buff from the other morph. And for Infectious Claws, I'm really not sure.

The healing debuff is enticing since I'm a pvp hound, but I feel I'll already get a semi-consistent healing debuff from the disease damage itself. On top of that I'm not exactly sure how and if healing debuffs can stack. So, while I do like the premise, I think the healing is going to be too necessary seing how being in Werewolf form, we're not offered the best of defenses.

Furthermore, the heal from Claws of Life is based on your damage dealt, meaning its a heal that effectively scales with our weapon power/weapon crit/max stamina, which is in such high demand for pure stamina builds such as I use. Heading over to the respec shrine now to update the original post with names.

Hmmm, I'll probably go for Hircine's Rage, Howl of Despair, and Claws of Life.

Indeed, such were my thoughts as well.

But then I started thinking about piercing howl. They synergy sounds great, and it is. But it's for your group, not yourself. So in a sense, you're picking a morph that, when you're on your own does nothing.

And with that in mind, the damage bonus to feared enemies isn't as low as I had anticipated. 30% at rank one is pretty respectable, with this I was critting for 800 with Howl of Anguish. And that's at rank one.

Albeit, that was also while Hircine's Rage was active, and possibly my 2h momentum buff which I precasted.

Regardless, my point stands that technically Howl of Anguish is what is going to benefit the werewolf himself the most, and it could turn this ability from a mediocre damager with a killer stun to a respectable damage with a killer stun.

Might be worth the tradeoff for those with any interest in solo play.

I have the impression that the werewolf will remain excessively vulnerable, considering improvements to the bow and the damage inflicted by a transformed werewolf is not very high, I believe that we will remain easy prey even after this patch, I think the problem is simply that they put too many bleed damage and a few instant damage

I understand what you're saying, and that might work out quite well for PvE, but in terms of PvP, competitive players are going to be breaking fear very quickly, nullifying the bonus damage to feared targets and making the stun useless, thanks to their temporary CC immunity. Perhaps if you can surprise them you'll have the chance to take advantage of the bonus, but considering that werewolves can't sneak and that their abilities have some response time issues, I'm not putting much faith into the werewolf's ability to one-two-punch a player before said player can react and break CC.

Howl of Anguish I would imagine would work great in PvE though, since the NPCs won't be breaking CC, but I'm always thinking in terms of PvP with my builds.

Make's sense enough, but there's one hole in your argument. If the scenario you describe were truly how things were in cyrodiil then hard CCs would be absolutely pointless and no one would use them because the person would inevitably just break out afterwards. (Dat hyperbole, I know, I'm sorry, felt it proved the point though)

The reason this isn't the case is because CC-breaking costs a lot stamina. Blocking a CC costs stamina dodging to avoid a single target CC or get out of range of an aoe CC costs stamina.

The common tactic in PvP, and why I believe the morph would be the superior choice to a solo pvper, is to have a 'war of attrition,' so to speak, until either you or your enemies stamina cannot hold out anymore to be able to cc-break or dodge or block. This is when CC's become their most useful, and can play out their full duration while the CC's caster mercilessly pounds on the subdued enemy.

This is inevitable in every fight, if someone is dying before their stamina runs out to defend themselves then they are either 'doin it wrong' or are WAY too squishy. (Or if they got owned by unbreakable CC bug, but that's a different story)

That being the case, in any given fight in which both opponents are of close to equal durability/sustainability and skill (when one isn't way too squishy or 'doin it wrong'), CC's like fear being active for their whole duration with the right timing becomes crucial to finishing the fight.

In said scenarios, a damage increase by a third on targets who I've caught in my death-trap, being fear with no stamina to break it or have avoided it, will be able to be finished off much quicker to end the fight before they're able to recover and potion/heal/what have you.

Furthermore, I'm hoping the stun will still go off if you get a player while he's feared, therefore keeping him in place for you/possibly prolonging the CC.

So overall, I think you have it backwards, and I'd say that Howl of Anguish is better for PvP than PvE. But that is only because when I say PvE I particularly mean single target dps in end game group content (fighting CC-immune bosses). Of course it will help when leveling, but min/maxing while leveling up has never been an issue.

If you are min/maxing for 1v1 fights in PvP where you have no allies to take your synergy, I'd say you'd be crazy to not be using Howl of Anguish. If you run in a group much more than you run solo, Howl of Despair is a perfect alternative, but if you do equal parts both or more solo than anything, I'd still say Howl of Anguish is the way to go.

Just wanted to pop back in with the implication of the Piercing Howl buff. Howl of Anguish is going to hit like a truck when the enemy is feared.

EDIT: Went in and played around with it a bit, was critting 1k on pve vr mobs. Good fun.
