Something to consider re: creating alts to quickly craft Nirnhoned items...

You never know, in the future there may be new crafted sets released that require 9 traits to craft. So if that happens all these people creating alts so they can churn out Nirnhoned items quickly and profit will be sorry they didn't take a month to learn the 9th trait on their mains who already know 8 traits. I guess either way you're putting in a month to wait whether you do it now or in the future (if and when a 9 trait set is released) but personally I would rather do it now and on as many items as possible so I'll be ready for that in the future.

Just something to think about before you rush off to make a Nirnhoned crafter alt.

Actually, it is a good idea to create an alt strictly for this research. You can research a single trait in 6 hours while you find a Nirncrux trait stone and the low level mats for that alt to craft a researchable item for your main character. Then you can charge outrageous prices for anyone wanting a level 1 item with that trait during the 30 days the item is researched on your main.

Maybe if the trait materials become less rare this won't be an issue because like you said your alt can just learn it quickly and make an item for your main to research. But so far in my search, just finding the Nirncrux stone has been as rare as the item itself

Lol, don't mean to be offensive, but you really did not think that one out. A nirnhoned alt will be able to craft said item, if mats are available, 1st item you send to your crafter main, you've just exponentially increased your crafting viability. The main will eventually research said trait, whilst the alt can cash in quick. Win win situation, your looking at a potential 6 hr wait to begin producing whilst delaying the main by a further 6 hrs, negligible IMO , considering once the initials are posted, the alt can reasonably sell on to all others.

    Read your own statement again.

    *if mats are available.

Nirncrux trait stones aren't exactly falling out of the sky.

edit: maybe they are and I just don't know where to go to catch them. But I've been looking, and I am not finding them.

I saw a couple of those trait stones in a guild store for 35,000 each yesterday. Someone's getting them. But yes, assuming you can get the materials, it is more efficient to research on a six hour alt first and have it craft one for your main and more to sell.
