Path to Nirnhorne trait

So far the only thing I have been able to find is more questions.

Can someone provide information on what is needed to craft this trait?
Is there a specific questline and if so what is the name of the quest that starts this?
Do you need to complete all the lower Craglorn quests or are there any lower Craglorn quests required to attain thus trait?
Are the new trait stones harvested?
If they require harvesting then which nodes? Or are there different ones for Blacksmithing, Clothing and Woodworking?
Do you need special tools or a special skill to harvest Nirncrux?
Is Fortified and Potent Nirncrux Crafted?

I've completed a few quests in both lower and upper Craglorn but none that make feel I am getting any closer.
I've harvested everything I could find in upper Craglorn but haven't found anything new.

When you complete the quest chain in upper craglorn (the main chain) you get a few weapons and armour with this trait for research

Also finishing the arena gives one weapon or armour with this trait

I only did some quests but finished the dragonstar arena normal mode yesterday. So questline not finished, Dragonstar Arena normal achievement finished, not a single of nirnhoned trait items on all 10 stages.

So basically this trait is group-only content.

Sideline

Looks like, though I assume a few people will soon get rich by giving the item to a level one alt who can burn their first, very fast research on a deconstruct and then start cranking them out for resale. Guess they would still be limited by the gems though. I haven't seen any for sale in my trade guilds yet.

The trait gems are extremely rare, selling for upwards of 25k right now. Traited items are 50k+

edit: Also, I got a Nirnhorne restoration staff off the final boss in the UC story quest line.

WoW Have they tied a crafting material with group quests? That isn't logical not to say anything else.

I'm unhappy about this as well. I generally play solo or do PvP and I truly hope ZOS offers items with these traits through PvP and Wrothgar when it's released.

What the going rate? Swapping 2 Nirncrux stones for one item with the Nirncrux trait?

I have seen people selling crafted Nirnhoned items for 50K. If you supply the Nirncrux stone, they still want 25K or more.

Some items may be rarer than others and worth more. For example I've only seen 2 medium armor parts compared to 4 light and 5 heavy.
Trading 1 item for another is still the best option imo.

Wow, all the talk about making trade a player driven market to stop the control of the market by individuals and yet people are already price adjusting the access to the Nirnhoned trait due to the limited access as well as the way you access it. This in my opinion was a poor choice of how to bring in a new trait. Maybe if there was some good sugestions on how to distribute this better they might take note and make this process more favorable.

There are a few paths to obtain the trait gemstone. You can deconstruct an item with the Nirnhorn trait. Or you can very, very rarely find it while harvesting resource nodes in Upper Craglorn. Heavy sacks will drop the stone very rarely. Enemy mobs will also drop the stone on rare occasions.

In short, the stone is almost as difficult to obtain as the traited items.
