Resto Staff (simple question)

Hey guys,

Is primary attack with the resto staff a self heal, or a target heal?

I just respec'd my DK do a DPS build which uses destro staff primarily. I'm not sure what to use a secondary weapon yet, but was thinking resto staff might be cool if I can sneak some quick self heals in without using extra magicka.

Thanks.

Restoration staff deals damage, restoration spells in the restoration staff weapon skills heal.

Ahh I see. Any self heals in there or is it mostly for healing allies?

Every healing spell I've used affects me plus allies.

    I tend to use...
Grand Healing - morphed to Illustrious Healing

Blessing of Protection - morphed to Blessing of Restoration, heals and increases armor and increases spell resistance (typically I'll use this at the start of a fight)

Regeneration - morphed to Rapid Regeneration

Force Siphon - morphed to Siphon Spirit (sometimes I'll swap this out for an attack like Mages Fury from the Storm Calling skills)

Nice, thanks for the info. I sort of assumed they would all self heal as well as allies, but wasn't sure. I'm thinking a few of those would be nice as pre-fight buffs or something. My build is really magicka heavy with a bit into health so i'm fragile.

Resto staff light and heavy attacks also restore some magicka.

The heavy attack restores 10% of your maximum magicka on finishing its channel. Light attacks just do damage.

Full heavy attacks will heal an ally for a very small amount if you have the Essence Drain Morph. The effect is so small though that that passive is a waste of skill points.

Is this feature managed by a passive ability in the resto staff skill line? I just learned of this feature recently, and when I was playing I noticed this capability but was puzzled as to where it would be indicated or controlled within the game.

Its a fixed ability within the weapon. All Restro Staffs of all types get the same 10% Magicka at the end of a Heavy Attack.

It would be nice if it was in writing in game to see and know.

Does anyone know if the restoration staff is able to crit on its normal and heavy attacks?
