Please make 8 trait sets something useful!

After reaching 8 traits in medium and heavy armour crafting I feel I should be able make some pretty spiffy armour sets. But what I find is that the 8 trait sets are to be blunt crap..... and nothing that would aid a medium armour bow user.... we are the forgotten class in this game.

    It's hardly a medium armour/bow issue.

If you're a caster in light, you dont get any nice bonuses from 8 traits sets either. Eyes of Mara is only usable for something like a Sorcerer healer, with magicka sustained problems (do they even exist?).

Best crafted sets in this game have 3-6 traits.

Way of the Arena have decent utility in PvP (until you get hit with an unbreakable CC combination...again). Spectre’s Eye isn't to bad if you stack avoidance. That's about it, if you want to wear gear with 8 traits.

The other sets are all pretty rubbish from my perspective. Maybe there's something in there for a PvE tank? But I doubt it. Really wish they improve the 8 set bonuses, considering how long it takes to unlock. There's currently no incentive going beyond 6 traits.

Devs need to stick with what they said crafting was going to be like prior to the game's release and make end game crafting meaningful. Because in it's current state crafted sets are taking a huge backseat to drop sets and that just shouldn't be the case.

Agreed, but since I only play a NB with Bow I only talk for what I know. If all the 8 trait sets are rubbish then they REALLY need to fix things.

They aren't rubbish exactly, but they are not good enough for the effort put in to be able to use them.

They are better than nothing, but as @eliisra said the sets requiring 6 traits or less are far better.

Hmmmm.... That explains the other threads about "crafted vs looted" I've seen. I've always been confused by it because I have multiple characters, none in VR, and crafted armour always rocked because I could level the special armour effects with the character. If the special abilities suck after 6 traits then it actually explains a lot. Thank you for the clarification.

Maybe 9 traits sets will be more useful if they ever exist. For now I agree with OP.

I have to agree. Both the wife and I are almost at 8 traits on all pieces of Light and Medium armor but have no desire to create 8 trait sets because they just don't seem to offer anything special. You would think that after literally spending months researching all 8 traits they would offer something really nice, but it sure doesn't seem like it.

I have been in a hurry to get to 6 Traits, but not 8. I see some nice 2 and 3 piece 8 Trait items, but nothing of a set that interests me. So, I currently have Shield, Bow at 8, and in a month, Longsword and Fire Staff at 8. That will give me some nice 2 and 3 piece bonuses from the 8 traits, but everything else will be from a 3 to 6 Trait set.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
