Bored of Puncturing Sweep.

Puncturing Sweep was a nice skill until lvl50, but since I've entered Veteran content, the skill is a lot less amazing, and the constant sweep spam is getting exceedingly boring.

Does anyone have any ideas for a Templar caster build, (I need something that works for both solo pve and pvp) without using Puncturing Sweep? I've been trying to come up with something for a while now, but no luck yet finding something functional and fun.

    Heyho

    I think I can help you.

    PvE build:*klick me!*

    Thats a PvE bar for playing solo.

    -Restostaff - Singletarget
    -Destrostaff - AE damage
    -Im wearing 5x warlock, 3x willows, 3x aether (if u need life take twilight 3x instead of willows)
    -Always do a light Attack before using singletarget skills.
    -In groups when you are in the roll of a DPS toggle templar heal with spellsymetry (or maybe evilhunter ^^ ).
    -Use spellpower/spellcrit pots after u have placed your ultimate to maximize your damage

    Trial boss rotation: 1 -> la -> 2 -> la -> 3x(3 -> la)-> 4 (spellsymetry) - > then rotation starts again
    AoE rotation: 1 -> la -> 2 -> la -> 2x(3 -> la) -> 4 (spellsymetry) - > then rotation starts again
    la = light attack

    Never use spellsymetry when solo playing you need a healer after using it otherwise u maybe will die. ^^

    Feel free to test other skills :-)

    PvP build: *klick me!*

    Well ... bored of puncturing sweep?

    -2x Restostaff
    -5x warlock and 5x seducer
    -Bar 1: Melee with blazing shield and Nova
    -Bar 2: Range with heal and Soulassoult
    -Use biting Jabs with heal staff for increasing the dmg of this low dmg execute.
    -Try to keep heavy armor skill up, knockdowns or stuns are worst case (need a bit practice until keeping up all the time).
    -Always use Dark Flare before using Soulassoult.
    - Use blazing Spear against big groups its a nice way to gain ultimate power

    I hope this can help you a bit for having fun with playing your templar.
    Try new skills if another skill is boring or inefficent. ^^
    Maybe u will create a nice build for playing the Templar your own way :-)

    even though you say you are bored by PS its the most effective solo pve skill if synergized properly.

    thats my current skill setup when doing solo PVE

    the combination of siphon spirit+red diamond+degeneration+channeld focus makes you impossible to be killed unless the mob has an attack dealing more dmg that you have maxHP. as your hp/s is at 800-1200hp/s (proc depending) vs a single target while beeing unable to run out of magica.
    it is boring as hell ( ;) ) but who cares if it is effective. :p [mob depending replacement of volcanic rune, repentence, degeneration with immovable, breath of life or blazing shield can be helping]

    the ae qb its you or them so valcanic rune as an oh sh*t button aswell as repentence(no mana severe healing when you have killed allready some enemys) channeled focus as defense increasement and magica regeneration when pbaeing you are not moving much anyway hold block and "bomb" the "snip" out of them. desto ae is the most effective ae thx to destruction expert nothing comes close to it (beside a nb using power extraction once initially).

    Wait, does Flawless Dawnbreaker affect Puncturing Sweep? I thought Puncturing Sweep is affected by spell damage and therefor not a weapon attack? Degeneration only affects weapon attacks too.

    I also don't really understand why you have Inner Light on your Punc Sweep bar? Since Punc Sweep is weapon crit. Is it just for Blazing Spear?

    Sorry, I'm still a noob in terms of these more complex synergies. I've already decided to keep using Punc Sweep, cuz I tried other things and they just weren't as fun and satisfying, so I'm not bored with Punc Sweep anymore.

    at least from my observations flawless dawnbreaker does effect PS eventhough it does not scale with weapon dmg^^. its like allways ESO is a complete [snip] up and unintuative system. same counts for degeneration even though it should only be affected by weapon attacks PS hits enable the healeffect.
    inner light is for maximizing the heal output as siphoning (and red diamond) heals crit by spell crits and dmg increasement as burninglight procs are spellcrit affected aswell..

    Flawless Dawnbreaker does not affect Puncturing Sweep. It only increases the heal and damage of all Weaponskills for 10% - 13%.

    I think Inner Light is used for increasing the crit chance of the aedric spear passive burning light in his build. But you´re right it does not increase the crit chance of PS what only affects with spellpower & weaponcrit.

    @tankqullb16_ESO your build looks nice I would realy like to try it if I wouldn´t had to respecc.
    But it looks & sounds realy nice. :-)
