Does Lava Whip hit armor or spell resistance?
Does Lava Whip use spell crit or weapon crit?

The good people on Tamriel Foundry say that it is an armor check. (note flame resist will also mitigate it)

That says that it scales off magicka and spell damage, so spelliness seems like the logical choice.

Test it using elemental drain from the destruction staff line, and puncture from the sword and board line. There were/are some class abilities that make an armor check, biting jabs was/is one of those. (according to one of the eso unraveled videos)

This may sounds like the logical thing, but the good people at Zenimax like to be off the wall and confusing. Sweeping strikes scales off of magicka and spell damage, but it's mitigated by armor.
