PTS Patch 1.4 Bug Compilation

If you encounter any bugs during your adventures on the PTS over the next 4-6, please post them here. I will update the original posting to reflect bugs/issues that are brought to the attention of the community so as to increase awareness. Hopefully our efforts here will assist ZOS in expediting hot fixes before Patch 1.4 goes live.

Bug Compilation

Dragonstar Arena

- Frozen Visual Bug: If you are killed in Veteran DragonStar Arena while frozen (stage 2 wave 3+ with the snow falling) you keep the Frozen screen/character visuals Indefinitely or until you log out.

- Shadow Bug: Shadows in Stage 4 bug out and just keep using Whirlwind in the same spot forever and sometimes teleport to players/despawn when you attack them.

- Persistent Mobs Bug: Mobs are persisting through group wipes, allowing you to continue wave progress after death.

- Purple quality loot in Hardmode Dragonstar Arena is V13, whereas blue quality loot is V14.

Dungeons and Delves

- Sunken Lair: mobs are not dropping loot/gold.

Class & Weapon Skills

- Healing Ward (Restoration Staff). Both of the heals proccing off of healing ward are not currently able to crit. These 2 heal spells should be able to crit, the shield itself should not, and they should be based off of spell crit.

- Arcane Fighter (2H Passive) - is not properly increasing chance to apply status effects from elemental damage.

- Standard of Might: Occasionally dropping Standard of Might (In Dragonstar Arena) will allow you to "Hit E to Talk to Standard of Might."

- Various passives won't be working properly until you relog (need verification on which passives are reportedly not working at the moment?)

- Igneous Weapons (Dragonknight) In certain cases this ability will stack up to 20 times. When this happens, the player does significantly more damage than intended. Difficult to to recreate the bug intentionally, but it has happened several times by accident. This bug persists through death.

Combat and Gameplay

-Unbreakable CC bug still present, usually caused when immobilized and CC'd at the same time, or hit with multiple CC's at the same time.

-Double CC bug, if you are hit with a CC at the exact same time you hit the CC break button, often times you are double CC'd

- Your jewelry buffs will appear to be working in the stat sheet but wont actually work until you relog (confirmed for stamina regen and fire resist jewelry)

- Health bar desync bugs: If you layer shields multiple times, like conjured ward and annulment or obsidian shields, your health bar will eventually desync and always be showing some level of shielding, even when there is none. If you shoot projectiles that are reflected back at you, your health bar will desync. Especially apparent if using a bow and having your attacks reflected.

- Grahtwood / Thugrub's Cave: Thugrub will stop attacking you no matter from how near or afar you attack it. Sorcerer's pets will initially attack it but then lay off. Tried attacking Thugrub without pets, same result.

Animations

- Breton: Reports of character model upper body stuck while running, arms don't swing but legs are moving normally (repotting does not fix it).

- The red glow that appears on your weapons when a Nightblade's Siphoning Attacks is toggled on has animation issues. I've noticed that when I have my shield, it will sometimes have the glow for my bow and vise versa - creating wierd looking animations

Alchemy

- [Medicinal Use] Ranks I, II, and III do not increase duration of potion lingering effects.

Enchantments

- [Monumental Glyph of Potion Boost] has no effect on potions.

- Weapon Enchantments: don't proc any status effects. i.e. Flame enchantment never procs burning status effect. (working as intended?)

Crafting

- Metallurgy/Stitching/Carpentry Rank 4 reduces researchable items from 3 to 1.

- Ebonheart Provisioning Certification - The trunk in the Davon's Watch Mages Guild
which contains the Roast Pig recipe will not open when selected by the player, prevent quest progress.

- VR1 Glenumbra Crafting Writs - The Crafting Writs notice board in the city of Daggerfall is non interactable.

- Ebonheart Crafting Writs - The Crafting Writs notice board in the city of Davon's Watch is invisible and inaccessible.

- The Crafting Writs notice posts/boards are missing from almost all cities in the DC and EP zones while they are present and accessible in the AD zones.

- The writ posts/boards are present and working in these AD cities: Elden Root, Marbruk, Rawl'kha and Vulkhel Guard. (I did not check Silvenar in Malabal Tor due to the mobs and quests that make the city inaccessible.)

- The writ posts/boards are broken in: Daggerfall and Davon's Watch

- The writ posts/boards are missing in: Evermore, Mournhold, Riften, Sentinel, Shornhelm, Stormhold, Wayrest and Windhelm

- The VR14 gold reward for the crafting writ quests is less than the vendable sum of of the required items for completion (intended?)

- The preview panes at crafting stations are not updated dynamically upon changes to i.e. changing material selection.

- UI notifications for Crafting Writs quests are displayed after traveling via wayshrine.

- Clothier Station is missing from the town of Dragonstar.

Quests

- The E key will no longer activate the first option when talking to NPCs or accepting quests from the Alliance War or Crafting Writ boards.

- Quest "The Serpent's Fang" (Kill Runescriber Kulth and Armorer Uthik): NPC Little Leaf often disappears and mobs become bugged i.e. mobs not engaging in combat, not drawing aggro of other mobs in proximity, and despawning.

- Stros M'Kai quest Buried Secrets: There are no hint pointers for the focusing crystals. The quest markers aren't pointing in the right direction for Buried Secrets, Tarnish the Crown.

- Quest "Stone cold": cant see Hollow Watchman.

- Quest "The Serpent Lord": cant use blood rune to repair seals.

-Bangkorai: [critical, main quest stopper]Heart of evil: can't throw Uela's heart in the ritual circle because the prompt doesn't show up. (need people to confirm or deny this)

-Coldharbour: [major, quest stopper]The soul-meld mage: At the step "Talk to the soul-meld mage. hints:wait for the soul-meld mage", Zur walks up to the dwarven machine and just stands there not doing anything.

- Malabal Tor [Reap What Is Sown]: Fixed an issue that was causing some people to get stuck on the quest step “Eavesdrop on the Drublog Shaman.” v1.2.3. Reports of people still becoming stuck after the fix.

PvP

- Elite Gear Vendors in Cyrodiil do not sell any bows.

- Elite Gear Vendors in Cyrodiil only sell VR13 gear when they should sell VR14 gear, especially to my VR14 character.

- The Cyrodiil campaigns are not listed in the correct order. They are listed in this order: 14 Day then 30 Day then 7 Day. The sequence should match the current live server: 30 Day then 14 Day then 7 Day.

- Damage/armor values on VR14 elite PvP gear has not been increased over their VR12 counterparts. Enchantment stats seem to be increased accordingly.

PTS Issues

- Imperial racial skill line is not pre-leveled to 50, starting at only lvl 5.

- [The Master's Books] has no contents.

    Can you confirm if this is just a tooltip error? or is it also functionally erroneous?

    The weapon description for Nirnhoned is consistent with how every other weapon enchantment description is worded.

    Grant's 'x' damage shield for 'y' seconds.
    Deals unresistable damage.
    Deals magic damage and recovers magicka.

    None of these list chance on hit. They simply list what the effect is when the enchantment procs. We can assume that the Nirnhoned trait on weapons acts, and is worded, just like a weapon enchantment.

    The cost of Uppercut isn't reduced by "approximately 20%".

    on live its base cost is 476, on PTS its base cost is now 420.

    20% of 476 is 95.2, which would make the new cost before any trait or equipment 380,8, or 381. Afterword with the trait the cost should be 342.72 or 343 at 1 skill point and 304.64, or 305 at 2 skill points.

    its the same deal with bow's Snipe. Live its base cost is 476, PTS cost is 420, even tho it was supposed to be reduced by 20% as well. Probably none of the skills supposedly reduced are reduced by their listed levels.

    Changed some numbers, had the base cost wrong due to a different bug.

    To further the cost reduction bug, for a long time (and I have already bugged this in-game long ago mind you) None of the skills have been receiving the full cost reduction.

    Cleave's base cost is 303, With 2 skill points in the trait it is costing 269, but 20% less of 303 should be 242.

    Critical Charge is properly reduced from 392 to 313.6, rounded up to 314 in the tooltip.

    Uppercut only drops from 429 to 381 with the trait at 2 skill points, when it should be 343 with the trait.

    Reverse Slash goes from 278 to 247, when it should be 222

    Momentum Is recieving the full 20%, going from 364 to 292 (rounded up from 291.2)


    The bug is actually different. if you have a 1h weapon equipped, the three 2-hand skills listed that aren't receiving their full bonus will receive the 10% reduction from the 1h skill line if you have the trait. Checking from their real bases, they are getting the full bonus from the 2h trait to the "proper levels" listed as well. It was the same with the bow skill line with a few skills, even tho you cant use them with 1h/shield.

    Here are the problems encountered thus far with the new Crafting Certification and Crafting Writ quests.

    1. Ebonheart Provisioning Certification - The trunk in the Davon's Watch Mages Guild which contains the Roast Pig recipe will not open when selected by the player. This effectively stops this quest dead in its tracks.

    2. VR1 Glenumbra Crafting Writs - The Crafting Writs notice board in the city of Daggerfall cannot be interacted with, thus no quests can be started.

    3. Ebonheart Crafting Writs - The Crafting Writs notice board in the city of Davon's Watch is invisible and inaccessible. My compass indicated the notice board was near the bridge over the beggars between the bank and the crafting stations. No quests could be obtained because the board did not exist.

    4. VR6 Auridon (Vulkhel Guard) Woodworking Writ - The VR14 gold reward for the 6 Nightwood items was 302 gold, whereas selling those same 6 items of VR9 level to a vendor would net the player 408 gold. The quest gold reward should be greater than the vendor price of the items otherwise players will never complete the quest if vendors pay 33% more for the same items. The items crafted for the Blacksmithing Writ also usually have a market value that exceeds the gold reward from the quest. VR players with crafting skill lines below level 50 may be required to craft lower quality items like birch or Calcinium gear thus making the quests' rewards seem a little better by comparison (but I have not confirmed this).

    5. The preview panes at crafting stations are not updated dynamically when a user changes material types such as from quicksilver ingots to voidsteel ingots or when increasing or decreasing the number of ingots or wood when crafting items of various levels. I am forced to guess where I am and then switch to armor or weapons and then back to my original selection in order to have the preview pane updated with the correct material type and quantity.

    6. Unrelated to the above but the Elite Gear Vendors in Cyrodiil only sell VR13 gear when they should sell VR14 gear, especially to my VR14 character.

    7. The Cyrodiil campaigns are not listed in the correct order. They are listed in this order: 14 Day then 30 Day then 7 Day. The sequence should match the current live server: 30 Day then 14 Day then 7 Day.

    please add the bug that Healing ward is currently critting based off of weapon crit, instead of spell crit. (not sure if this is the same for ALL healing spells in the resto staff tree, or it is only healing ward that is bugged.

    that first one you have listed i just assumed was intended, i cant believe more sorcs havent been complaining about it. i guess they figure they just stop using it for a while til it gets fixed

    Energy overload will disable itself only if you use an ability that requires a weapon. It should not break on class abilities. This is how it functions on Live and I think that is how it's intended. The energy overload replaces your weapons, that is why the action bar is switched when it's activated.

    This applies to live servers as well, but i took the time to test it on PTS.

    Currently Weapon Enchants don't proc any status effect. Meaning if you have a Fiery Weapon Enchant for your weapon, it will never proc Burning.

    The only weapon currently able to do any status effect with these enchants is Destruction staff, just because its Elemental Power passive, If you don't have that passive you will not ever set off burning.

    However, Arcane Fighter in the two hander line doesn't work at all. It never sets off any status effect.

    Using the ghostly death walk, I navigated to the point below within Sunken Lair in Upper Craglorn. As soon as I turned around, all of the enemy mobs disappeared. There should have been several Scaled Court mobs and Wamasu in front of me but there were all missing. They did respawn after a short period of time; but they never should have disappeared (all of them within the Lair) in the first place.

    Also within Sunken Lair, the mobs do not appear to be dropping gold or loot once you slay them. I have not yet killed the Wamasu boss inside the lair but the lesser Wamasu and the Scaled Court mobs are not dropping anything for me.

    Also, the Stage 4 shadows bug out and just keep using Whirlwind in the same spot forever and sometimes teleport to players/despawn when you attack them, also lost of mobs are persisting through group wipes, allowing you to continue wave progress after death.

    There is no Clothing Station within the town of Dragonstar. There are Blacksmithing and Woodworking Stations. Could this be intentional for some reason?

    Kulth:
    After several attempts to pull groups of mobs behind the fence, the NPC Little Leaf disappeared and the entire encounter began to bug. All mobs could be killed without adding any of the other remaining mobs in the area. Kulth himself remained passiv, even when I attacked and killed him.

    Uthik:
    Again several attempts to pull mobs until Little Leaf disappeared. Then I killed a troll and suddenly all mobs despawned and I got credit for killing Uthik. I did not even attack him directly.

    The status of the Crafting Writ quests displays in the upper middle of my screen every time I arrive someplace via a wayshrine.
